Tyrone v Meath

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

As unlikely as it seems hypothetically if we were to beat Tyrone by 10 points and put in a very good performance similar to the first half last week would it put us as favourites for a quarter final place? That was our primary goal at the start of the season remember.

We need a tactical manager we wont win an all ireland but we should give teams a game kerry and cork today are on an other planet compared to us and there is no reason why we cant compete with them because we dohave some very good players

Ziggy not TOTALLY convinced we wont beat Tyrone...They are no world beaters..Even if we do win the problem still remains largely.. One swallow does not make a summer. The problem is major and long standing for football in Meath It is felt most severely at senior level being at the end of the line..Lack of proper structures e.g. coaching etc. all the way up. Ineffective leadership on and off the pitch..In my view winning against Tyrone would not be an accurate reading of where we are at.It would be equivalent to curing a patient of the flue whilst the patient has a remaining potentially terminal illness. I would really love to have to eat those words!

Yeah cant make any plans until time and venue sorted.
We can win but will we perform ? That is the question.
And who will take over if we don't win?

A bit of a farce that no times or venues are confirmed yet.

Absolute joke nothing is confirmed yet. Typical GAA they want to shy out of a decision. It was the same with the Roscommon county board earlier in the year calling off the match because of a few flakes of snow. Who knows we might even have won if it was played on the day it was meant to be fixed as we had stayed in a hotel the previous night and were prepared. Do the GAA not realize these decisions can have a mental effect on the players?

The venue and time is out today at 3pm I believe which was always the time they were going to be released, whats the issue here marching is on the 13th not that there would be hassle anyway

We are better then westmeath too ziggy...it was just one of those days that we downed tools and we're unable too pick them up again when they got a run at us...and anybody that thinks a 15 point ht lead would have flattered us either weren't at the game or are blind. I don't think we'll beat Tyrone but it will be close...something like 1-14 too 14

I reckon longford could lose home advantage so could there be a double header in Cavan? Its involve moving a game by a week tho so maybe not.

Why would it be moved from pearse park. .they have hosted loads of qualifiers, would they move a game from navan due too capacity? No of course not. Meath match probably wont be moved from omagh...prob just moved too Sunday

Jesus relax man would ya. It was only a suggestion due to the small capacity of pearse park and safety issues meaning the terrace is closed. You k ow best tho, longford it is.

Game has been confirmed for 3pm in Omagh.

I'm happy enough with that to be honest, 3pm is fine, I was hoping for an early throw in because of the distance involved.

3 o'clock in omagh next Sat. Early game so possibly not being televised as the hurling qualifiers look to have those slots.
