Tyrone v Meath

Yeah that team would be great, would switch Tobin and Harnan, but is it a bit late for O'Dowd to make those changes? Menton at midfield to give us mobility and legs along with Rooney is good.Be great to have Gillespie available to come on.I would play SOR if fit, especially against Tyrone,we will need a big man in there as it will be harder for McMahon etc to win their own ball.I agree with dropping Tormey,he is not tracking back.In his defence,he has had problems with his ankles, but Micko should not be playing him less than 100%.Will Reilly be fit enough? If so I would play him 3,with McGill and Keoghan in the corners.
Overall I would be very happy with that team, with the likes of Gillespie,Newman and Tormey to come in..

Are saying IF O'Dowd is in charge, that Moyles and Graham would be drafted in alongside him?

if some of the stuff wrote is true there then im a lot more positive than i was earlier in the week. great to see the lads are up for this, i thought that they might just b going through the paces and playing the fixture almost throwoing the game ala limerick in 2008 that was my lowest ebb following meath since 1990, we really need a huge performance from the lads on saturday. hopefully it will be enough, they have a shot at redemption they should leave everything they have on tht feild in omagh. they are playing for their lives on saturday and the good ame of meath football and players from mattie gilsenan and peter mcdermott to red collier and graham geraghty. i woud put martin mccughs comments up on the wall of the dressing room this week ....... now is the time for those loyal to the royal to stand up and travel if at all possible.

Correct, because we have the players to win this game without a doubt.

Has anyone been to Healy Park before? What's it like for parking nearby etc?

I will still go up for the match but I don't have much hope that we will get the win. This Tyrone team only lost by 3points to a very good Donegal team this year and we scraped past Wicklow and got humiliated in the Second half vs the Westies. We do have a great panel of players but the Management and fitness are a joke it has been like this for a good few years now since 2012 our fitness is nowhere near where it should be .

After three years this panel should be reaching their physical/fitness peak, but it seems like wasted years. Tormey did not look right from very start against Westmeath. Would be great to see Kevin Reilly at fullback, but looked well off the pace in second half, constant injuries are taking toll. Think this game will be a dogfight so I like the look of Tampa's 15. But doubt if Micko will see it that way. More lightly to have Joey Wallace starting midfield.

Spoofer,
Yes, tens of thousands of people have been to Healy park. In response to your second question, I don't know as I've never been there

Donal lenihan has been the best player in show in the club championship so far this year and I heard he's been doing very well in challange matches and internal games, surely he deserves a chance ahead of some of the lads who've been starting/brought on

Meathgaa

We had the chance to use Lenihan especially against Wicklow,he would offer more than Joey.

Namely Joey Wallace and to a lesser extent Sean Tobin. Lenihan gives ya scoring and pace, searing pace infact....to beat Tyrone ya need pace...remember the trouble we caused them by running at them 2 years ago...they resorted too pulling us down pre black card days...in other words they couldn't handle it. One thing we do have is options pace wise

Tampa i the look of that team, but is Carroll not out of favour with mod?
Look i actually think that team would beat Tyrone, with Gillespie, Newman, tormey, burke, Flanagan and maybe Dalton to come in , i think we should win, problem is we have one of the most tactically astute managers in the game, against one of the most tactically naïve. Reading game in real-time is a must, is there any chance he might bring Sean into dug out as a helper? Honestly i am getting more and more frustrated at Kelly and Giles , they should say hey this is not working, need someone up in stand miked up to analyse game better.
One shot at slight redemption mod don't mess it up, the team Tampa picked are better than Tyrone, proper plan a followed by a quick change to plan b , all players know what to do, set plays will be important, forget about Westmeath, the road to redemption starts in omagh.

It annoys me that the gaa can't appoint a ref from a province that isn't involved in the game, just something small that probably has no bearing but it just makes sense. Ref is from Down Saturday

Thing is,it is highly unlikely that Lenihan will get any game time at this stage.

Remember Mick O'Dowd was banned from a game? Can't remember which one it was,BUT,he actually said he see alot more from the stands.I am surprised he has not decided to do that more often,or at least send one of the selectors up..

In my experience the Northern refs tend to be very helpful to the Northern teams. They tend to ref the games by their rules as such..

RD- mod is going to have seanie miked up in the stands. I expect a meath win. Tyrone can't handle the black card. Expect plenty of sledging.

Always said moyles would be a good candidate. What success at underage has be had though? Don't like the idea of gg in the management set up
