Well we beat Down there last year at the same stage. And we played well so no excuses. Any word on the fitness of Nevin O'Donnell for next Wednesday? Big strong centre-forward who could be a big asset.

The venue was ment to be confirmed 2nite wed after a meeting of ulster council, and pending the result of Armagh/Antrim replay, Monaghan didn't want to play the game in Brewster park. Cavan didn't want Armagh.

Played the semi in Armagh last year and got the result, no reason why we cant do it again this year. Strong panel should get us over the line.

Can someone answer the question of why the game was switched from Enniskillen to Armagh at Monaghan's request?

Why is everyone so worried about the game not being in Brewster? Armagh still a neutral venue and I would have confidence in our lads doing the business no matter where the game is...

Would someone please tell me when this game was ever fixed for Brewster Park! It wasn't. Everyone just assumed it would be there because we have been there so many times before. No Venue was ever confirmed until yesterday when Armagh was announced and it was always the obvious choice with Monaghan involved. And as a previous poster pointed out, what difference does it make. We got over Down in Armagh last year. I honesty don't think the focus should be on the venue or that it will decide this game.

It doesn't make any difference, Enniskillen was the obvious venue for both counties as Fermanagh borders Cavan & Monaghan.. Not worried where the game is, just surprised they are dragging Cavan to Armagh, beat Down last year and hopefully anotherwin this year in Armagh.

Glad the furore has died down over the venue. A storm in a tea cup if you ask me!!Firm believer the venue never bet a team. So lets get back to the game.
Monaghan wont be easy and remember they ran us to extra time last year better than any other Ulster team did. I dont know how many of last years starting 15 are eligible again this year! But they will have a good few of last years winning minor team and they were good.
I still expect Cavan to have a pull at mid-field and Argue is getting forward really well. The defence looked very tight against Tyrone and would have no worries there.
The forward line I think might not be as settled as the rest of the team is. Where will Joe Dillon play? Will Conor Madden and Tom Hayes start? Both looked very good when introduced and we might need Maddens physical ability against the Farney boys.Expect Paul Graham to improve from the Tyrone game and pity Nevin O'Donnell isent an option for the '40.
But looking forward to another memorable night with the U21's and the last 5 yrs have been really brilliant to be a Cavan supporter.
Cavan Abu!!

Monagahn actually don't have that many from last years Minor team on the u21 panel this year, Conor McCarthy was one of the star of that team - not on the panel..

Team that beat Cavan last year after et:
Monaghan - R Beggan (0-1f); R Wylie, C Boyle, P McGuigan; C Cromwell, J McGuigan, P McKenna; S Sherry, P Dooney; T Connolly (0-1), S Carey (0-4f), S O'Brien; T Kerr (0-1), K McEnaney (0-1), D McKenna (0-1). Subs: B McQuaid for Cromwell, J McCarron (1-2, 0-2f) for O'Brien, L Hahessy, C McKenna (0-1) for D McKenna

Monaghan team that beat Down in Quarter final this year
Monaghan - D Kirk; R Wylie, C Boyle, D Courtney; P Keenan, J McGuigan, S Conlon; M Boyce, B Greenan; K Cromwell, C McKenna (1-4, 0-4f), T Kerr (0-4f); M McGurk, P McKenna (0-2), F McMahon (0-2). Subs: J Murphy for R Wylie (BC), D Ward for F McMahon, S Buckley for M Boyce, R McEnaney for S Conlon, D Freeman for M McGurk, F Malone for D Courtney.

Delighted to hear that news as he is a player with a lot of class and potential. It gives us great options with Madden and Hayes in the running as well.

I find it strange that . The game has been fixed for Armagh when Armagh themselves are playing at exactly the same time in Omagh. It's hardly ideal for the Armagh Gaels who would have to work at the game , helping out in whatever capacity that they can't watch their own team. Also there will probably no neutral supporters because any spectators who would have an interest would surely go the healy Park.

Was Brewster not available

Best of luck to Peter and all the lads and hopefully we can reach our 5th Ulster Final in a row. Fantastic record and one that so many other counties are envious of!!
If we repeat our Q/F display aginst Tyrone we should prevail but I hear Monaghan are really up for this one and we really have to be at 100% Expect a huge Breffni crowd to travel and it is not any more awkward than Brewster.
Cavan Abu!
