Awards: Best former-county player still playing club football
December 30, 2012

St Pats Cormac Sullivan
Considering Niall McKeigue has already scooped our Best Club Footballer of the Year award, he is purposely left out of the running for this accolade.
So who are the contenders for the 'second best ex-county player still playing with his club'?!
Niall Kelly added a JFC B medal to his collection when Dunshaughlin got the better of St Mary's in the decider while Hank Traynor came out of retirement to help Simonstown reach the last eight of the SFC and scoop the Division 2 FL title.
Double All-Ireland winner Colm O'Rourke also featured for the Navan side's third team this year but there were question marks over his eligibility!
O'Rourke's former Skryne team-mate Trevor Giles continued to produce the goods for the Tara men while Brendan Murphy was as solid as ever between the posts as Trim reached the Intermediate decider.
Despite being hampered by injury for a lot of the year, Barry Regan made some notable contributions to O'Mahonys' Keegan Cup success as an impact sub.
Our award, however, goes to Cormac Sullivan who has been an outstanding servant for St Pat's.
The Stamullen outfit reached the last eight of the SFC this year, as well as the league final, and the 1999 All-Ireland winning netminder laid the platform for their encouraging year with a string of fine displays at midfield.
