its only at the semi-final stage in Ulster (with one quarter final still to be decided.

so its Cavan v Monaghan in one semi
and winners of Armagh/Antrim v Donegal in the other.

How many were Meath missing last night in the semi (other than Eamon Wallace).?

Young Seamus Mattimoe is a great talent and scored well for ye last night, along with McMahon.
I was impressed with Seamus in your county final a while back playing for Kells.

Very high hopes for the Tyrone u21S But they were pretty poor last night and I don't buy the conditions were against them as both teams had the same conditions Tyrone were a shambles for the get go and we need to find a management team that can get this talented bunch of lads to deliver other wise we will be still pinning our hopes on the old guard which now consist of the two Cavanaghs and the two McMahons can't see SAM coming back to the Red hands anytime soon.

Meath will be missing Wallace and Cillian O'Sullivan for the final Fionn, and have been without one of the McEntees so far. Not sure if there's any others injured. Any word on Costello? Heard he picked up an ankle knock at the end last night.

I thought if yous were to stand any chance yis needed to be going in at half time at least 4-5 points up considering yous had the wind in the first half. I was expecting more from Tyrone though, we won pulling up in the end. Looking forward it is hard to see Tyrone reaching the highs of the noughties, Ulster has become a level playing field for 7 out of the 9 counties.

First leinster U21 final Meath have reached for 13 years! is it any wonder their current senior aren't a patch of their 90s senior team. Dublin should win the by final by at least 6 points IMO. Tyrone haven't won Ulster U21 title since 2006! that must be a cause for concern for their supporters.

Munster final is Cork v Tipp

It's hard to know if Tyrone were bad or if Cavan were just too good.
Cavan also brushed a fancied Derry aside too so they seem to be pretty good.

They have a really impressive U21 set up but success at senior level does not automatically follow. ForU21 success to translate to senior the younger players need a cohort of experienced senior players that command respect to make the transition. There is a world of difference between U21 & senior, talent alone is not enough.
That said I would love to see Cavan back in the big time, they have been away too long.

Don't worry, the transition at senior level is very much evident, and it is built on the players coming through the youth system. We'll start with the div 3 final in a few weeks, but we have much loftier ambitions going forward.

Why did Dublin refuse to toss a coin for home venue? Surely rules are rules,the GAA should have said toss the coin or else it will be in Navan! On a weekday night,I cannot see many from Meath and Dublin travelling to Laois.. I mean Meath have played Dublin away since the early 80's,were Dublin expecting to be home again? Seems a little arrogant,to refuse to toss a coin.. Maybe we should refuse to play them in Croker in the future?I'm sure even Dubs fans would prefer to travel to Navan rather than Laois..
