Well said. No Dub has the right to moan about this transfer with this going on for years.

Laughable statement.

Bad day for football as a whole. In my opinion he was tapped up. And he went along with it. He won't start against offaly. But if they win that and meath win there 2 matches. There will be some very good chants from the meath boys.

Finally all over.

Hopefully its worth it and he manages to perform to his full ability now.

Id hope people dont use this everytime he has an off game to make smug remarks regarding the transfer or the whole process. Its done now and he's a Kildare player so best of luck to him and them. Fingers crossed the next arcticle we read regarding him, Cavan or Kildare will be related to on the pitch matters.

On the other side of it, I hope it doesnt spring a whole host of new transfer requests. At the moment Leinster council are investigating poaching of underage players in Meath to another county, so hopefully this doesnt mean that they will be allowed continue and use this as an example.

Sets a bad precedent. But good luck to him and kildare. Kildare were in need of a top quality forward. They have one now. But if it all goes wrong it will be a disaster if kildare win leinster it will be seen as a master stroke by mcgeeney.

It's a great day for you though, Royaldunne. You get to talk about Kildare to your heart's content

Thanks for the good luck wishes. As it currently stands it's not until next year he'll play for Kildare. However that may change.

IMO the GAA should be looking at this on a nationwide level. Not only intercounty but interclub as well. No point in one Council picking one particular area. It needs to come from the top.

Derfil1. Do you think it would be fair to say st kevins will have a match before 16 june?
I'd say its pretty much nailed on. It would appear fruitless if not

Ah well... nothing new.

Some teams are just incapable of producing enough quality to win major prizes. Kildare are a prime example of this... It says it all when Kildare cant produce enough forwards and Geezer has to bring in a disgruntled Cavan man. No talent in Kildare... NO?

Dublin in the hurling have benefited greatly from outside players but personally I think Dublin hurling can only say that we've arrived when we dont have to call upon outside talent and we can stand alone.

Thats when Dublin hurling will have made the real step forward IMO. Theres not many outsiders playing for Cork, Kilkenny, Tipp, Limerick etc etc etc

We've just been incapable of being successful without outside players to date. I hope that day will change and we can have our place at the top table.

I dont think it's far off... I hope so anyway... Ryan O'Dwyer is a Tipp man who has given alot to the Sky blues... but he's a Tipp man.

How very righteous of you. Go now and apply that logic to all Dublin football teams that won All Irelands with culchies on the team.

There's no guarantee that'll happen. In fact I'd say its very unlikely.

This could go down as a watershed in GAA history with, in my opinion one of the saddest things to happen in the association. Hopefully not but this could open the floodgates now with players for supposed weaker counties deciding they want to ply their trade away from their native County to chase glory. This is not what the GAA is about. Players like Paul Barden, Declan Browne, Dessie Dolan, Eamon O'Hara,Mattie Forde, our own Enda Muldoon and Paddy Bradley have stayed loyal to their Counties for little or no reward only the pride of playing for the shirt.

Maybe i'm too much of a traditionalist but you stay with your Club and County unless of extreme circumstances. If this becomes the norm then many people will turn their back on the GAA and we may as well rename it the Gaelic Games Premiership.

I for one am glad that the transfer has gone through, this is there last resort because they have failed year after year with their current team. At least they wont have any excuses when they get knocked out this year!

With regards to corcoran, odwyer and obrien who were brought into the dublin hurling setup, corcoran and obrien were living, working and playing away for their clubs in Dublin. They wanted to play with Dublin and were nt poached. The same goes for Odwyer, and if he couldnt get a run with Tipp why shouldnt he move.

I worry though if they fail again this year, whats next?

Very very unlikely I would say. Can't seeing other clubs agreeing to it.
