A good game last night for both sides. Wexford had a strong team out but struggled at times against a depleted UCD side.

UCD had a couple months extra work done though.

If we can have all our best players fully fit injury wise for the League this year we shouldn't be too far away.

lets hope there is no repeat of last years injury nightmare for the league, we were down 9 players at one stage, good news ben is going again, bad news the corner back has opted out for a very silly reason from what i hear

If lads like Porter, Coleman, Sheehan, the Hughes, Malone etc were fully fit for all the League I still think we have a great chance! We were missing most of them this year for some time. Hopefully Jonathan Bealin will make a difference up front too.

is bealin in squad? good news if he is, our team to play london this year could have little similarity to last years in the same game

That's nearly all of John Hegartys best players from last year. Be interesting to see how Porter, Coleman, Lyons and company get on against them in Hollymount!

To me those 2 games seem like in house training games open to the public based on how many county players got on the club teams of the year. Also with the dates not every player picked could be available as there's often weddings etc. over xmas and new year, 1 player on each team has gone travelling since the club championship finished. Subs will have to be arranged for the club teams too as surely couldn't just tog out the bear 15.

Was only talking about that to a friend this morning. Does anyone know why they didn't? And not running down the 3 lads who are nominated for hurler of the year but 2 of them, while sound lads and very dedicated and committed and in general are good hurlers, didn't have the best club championships. A case could be made that 1 or 2 of their clubmates did better in this year's championship.

id say was lovely for players especially lads who not on county panel to even see themselves nominated, bit of regognition for the year they had,

Nkt saying anyone on those teams don't deserve to be there, but who picked them ?

I know that last year and the year before, the judging panel was basically the crew of commentators and analysts from Wexford GAA TV, so I'd expect it was the same this year.

As regards other things - am only speculating here, but I remember too that it was something like February this year before last year's Teams of the Year were announced, after some sort of problems with videos to announce and analyse the teams. Am guessing then that just doing the teams the way they've done it now is far easier to arrange. It does take some of the drama out of it, though!
