You could only be encouraged again after that, DOK was MOTM for me while the backs as a whole were brilliant, Shane Reck didn't give Cathal Mannion a sniff while his brother, Flood and O'Hanlon are in brilliant form, if Rory can keep this level of consistency going we possibly have 1 of best players in the country, Pepper was brilliant when introduced but the work of Oisin Foley in the build up for his goal should be remembered too.

1 thing I should have mentioned earlier is I did think the game did lack a bit of intensity, was very evident when watching Limerick Cork and the comparison of the 2 games.

I think we can assume that we will beat Offaly at home - which means that we are guaranteed a league semi now.

Not quiet, if Galway beat Cork and Cork beat us the 3 teams could all finish on 8 points and it comes down to score difference i think for 2 semi final spots.

Have to be thrilled with that.

The backs were excellent again.

We must remember too, we were without possibly 3 of our 4 best players.

Great to see so many of the younger lads doing well.

Cork looked excellent today too. That's a big game coming up now but you'd have to fancy us to get to a semi final at this stage

I think we should make a semi now but even if we dont I think the League has been a good one for us. Most of the fringe players in the panel have been given significant gametime and havent looked out of place. Regulars like MOH and DOK look reenergised. We now look to have good cover for all the positions on the pitch. We have genuine competition for places now. And playing Mcguckin as a 3rd midfielder has worked out pretty well too.

Delighted for the boys, we are going about our business nice and efficiently. Other poster on here from other counties, media and RTE pundits are just say ah it only the league and all the big teams are using it to sharpen up etc etc.

But we are making good strides and have come a long way, we couldn't buy a win in galway for years league or championship up to recent time, today we went to salthill with no Chin, Mcdonald, Ryan, the back bone of our team and won.
Today hearne, recks, pepper, oisin foley, Charlie, Richie all had roles to play in today win

I know it only the league and I am not getting carried away but we can match all times on our day.

Yes that would make it a mathematical certainty. Scoring difference might come into play if Galway win though and beat Clare in the last game and we lose to Cork. Thats assuming we beat Offaly which isnt a given. Just before the hour mark they were only a point behind Clare the weekend gone.

We could have unearthed a real gem in Darragh Egan.
He has done a great job so far.

I think what's most impressive is the widening of the panel.
Ultimately you want a well stocked panel where lads come off the bench and make a difference. And in particular, forwards who come off the bench and score.
This to me, puts Wexford in a healthy position because now we have more forwards (and scoring) options that can make a difference.
Great to see the continued development of Pepper, O Foley, Charlie Mc, Higgins, Dunbar, Flood, Mikie, Hearne and Richie. The more game time these lads get the better they will be.

I think Offaly will have improved a lot since their first outings as they adjust back to the high level. I would not take them for granted.

Anyway, well done to everybody on a great start to the league.

Great performances so far in the league, but I can't help think teams are a bit behind us training wise.
That said, we can only go out and hurl our best and we have 3 good wins, a nice mix of intelligent use of the ball as well as a quick ball in to forwards in space. Rory is benefitting more from the new found freedom, his points yesterday were absolute peaches. My father joked last night that if he could survive playing in the forwards with John defending in the back garden, he'd be fit for any full back line.
Our backs have been rock solid throughout the league, that said Galway were toothless without Conor Whelan.
I am especially delighted to see the new names Punter called out. If we had these options on the bench v Kilkenny last year, we could have won a Leinster title.
Big fear I have, is if Daire Egan does a great job with us, Tipp will 100% come calling.
Great start to the year, I would completely ignore the league form of Limerick and Tipp for example, but we are introducing new blood, getting good wins, knowing there is plenty to improve on in terms of wides. We can't expect much more.
We should give the panel a run out v Offfaly, by my maths (not always good) we need one more win to make a league semi and our panel should be good enough to beat a god awful Offaly by 10+ points, in spite of how it saddens the older generations to see it. Reality is you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
But even lets say Offaly turn us over, it would make a great winner takes all game v Cork.
Lot of very silent posters since the Dublin defeat.....they were out in force the day after it.

A very encouraging performance yesterday. Every player gave everything to the cause. I was delighted with our full back line. They were rock solid and without Ryan makes it even more commendable. Rory was a joy to watch. The new system suits his style and gets him into the game so much more than under Davy. Guys like mcguician, Flood, Oisin Foley, Dunbar, pepper have all blended in well to the set up and will be ready to make a big contribution come championship time. The question is however, can we beat Galway, Kilkenny and Dublin in the round robin? When we have Mac, Gippo and Chinner back to full fitness there is every chance that we can travel far in the all ireland series.

We dont have to beat all 3 of Dublin, Kilkenny, and Galway. If we beat 2 of them we should be nearly certain of going through once we beat Laois and Westmeath which isn't a given. Scoring difference might come into play also as it did in 2019.

Wexford and Galway have 2 home games against teams from the 'big 4' in Leinster. Dublin and Kilkenny just 1. That could be crucial in determining who qualifies. Home advantage is huge in championship

Think so too Hurlingbuzz. Injuries also with the games coming thick and fast. If a couple of key players pick up minor enough injuries that only take a few weeks to clear up at the start of the Round Robin the championship season could be over by the time they come back .

Lots of room for experimentation against Offaly on Sunday especially if Cork beat Galway on Saturday.

Also players getting Covid at the wrong time could impact games too and further values a strong panel.
