Has the knack of being able to score from long range as well. Got a great point last night. Reminds me of colm galvin . The wexford guys played a big part in Carlow I.T's win last night

There was some very encouraging displays from Wexford players on the Carlow IT side last night, especially Rory Higgins. All in all a great week for Wexford Hurling.

Replying To Afinestick:  "Dunbar put in a big shift again. Need to mind him he'll be playing fitzgibbon again next week. Might be better letting him come off the bench in Ennis if Kevin Foley is back. Also good to see Shane Reck back"
Yeah IT Carlow put in a big shift overall, AJ Redmond is actully playing corner back for them too, is down as Aidan Redmond on the team list. Hopefully Shane Reck will be fit enough for a start soon enough, him and Eoin Cody back for the semi final would be a big boost for them especially with Martin Kavanagh picking up an injury, DJ has done a great job as manger with them the last number of years. Have to say for a strong side on paper I was disappointed in UCC they never really got going.

Replying To Oldtourman:  "Thanks Punter. I know this period of Limerick dominance will be over soon enough. When that day comes I hope that their example will lead to other members of the chasing pack replacing them at the top. I feel that Galway have the material to win All Irelands and Waterford and Wexford are other serious contenders. We do not want to to return to the days when the Big Three won 15 out of 16 All Irelands"
You are right in that there will be periods of dominance and this is limericks era.
Listening to the Paudie Maher interview on Newstalk last night, Joe Gilroy pointed out that Tip's All Irelands (2010, 2016 & 2019) cemented a few of their players as great players.
Think Limerick have a few more All-Irelands in them. The great Kilkenny team of the 00's is a better comparison.

On a different note, it's probably Cork and Galway with the best pipeline followed by the rest including Wexford who have good talent coming through ... but as you know, many an underage player never make it big at senior for various reasons.

6 of them too. I remember only 10 or 12 years ago we only had 6 or so lads playing Fitzgibbon for all the colleges combined.

Really good interview with Harry Kehoe on the Hurling Podcast well worth a listen.

Listened to it during my walk earlier. Was just coming in here to say, some of it was fairly damning of Davy's approach to management. He clearly had his favourites, which was damaging in the long-run. For a quiet-going lad like Kehoe to reveal as much is telling.

And would Oisin Foley (and by extension Paudie, who left the panel due to Oisin's mistreatment), McGuckin and Dwyer been given the same chance vs Limerick under Davy's watch? I don't think so.

Only 2 lads who didnt get significant gametime under Davy starting, Oisin Foley and Charlie Mcguckin, though the bench has a good shot of younger lads to bring on plus starters from last year in Shane Reck, Dunbar, Hearne and Morris. Obviously Chin, Kevin Foley, Bailey and Murphy of the regular starters the last few years still to come back from injury. And Devitt. Is David Dunne injured also? Panel is building nicely on last years improvements. Hopefully we get the injured lads back between now and April and dont lose too many to injury at the same time. If we can reach the same levels as we did the last day we have every chance of getting another good result in Ennis.

I have heard from a few different people that Murphy wont be hurling for Wexford this year which is most unfortunate. I have no connections to anyone who might be close to him but the general consensus of what I'm hearing is that he is to undergo surgery on a back injury which has ruled him out for the intercounty year anyway.

Heard that too but not sure how true it is. Very good player although we do have very good cover at wingback. He was sitting with the team in the Park last weekend.

Wexford will only love that then. Only conditions that suit us according to a fella on here.

Great to see GC winning the Leinster colleges senior A title. Won it with some to spare too! Well done lads!

Well done to all involved, open to correction but I believe the spilt on the starting team is 9 KK and 6 Wexford but some lads with serious potential in the Wexford contingent, Conor Foley centre back and captain will likely figure at u20 level this year would have last year only for injury, Eoin Whelan at full back was impressive for the minors in that position last year while Cillian Byrne younger brother of Cian got 6 points from play I was reading he's underage for minor again this year.

Congrats to players and management on a great win yesterday. Great achievement for all involved. Hopefully they can go on and win the all Ireland now.

I think if you include the bench it's closer to 50/50. But as you say there are some young lads with serious potential in the team.

Whelan is one of the most impressive specimens I have seen in a long time in terms of physique. Nearly at Chin levels of athleticism already and only turning 18
