St Patricks club notes

August 21, 2017

Our Senior Ladies travelled to Newtown on Saturday evening to take on local rivals AGB in the first of this year's Ladies Senior Football championship semi-finals. Captain Sarah Delahunt led her team out in search of making club history and determined to win in front of fantastic Blue and White support. A close game in the first half saw St. Pat's lead 0-06 to 0-04 at half time. Our defence was superb, only allowing AGB score 3 points in the second half. Final score: St. Patrick's 0-09 AGB 0-07. History was made as the Ladies secured their place in their first County Senior Final. The final will take place on the 3rd of September with the details to be confirmed later.

An entertaining Division 1 league game between St Patricks and Eire Og, Unfortunately finished after five mins of the second half when the referee Anto Nolan had to call a halt as he was unable to continue due to injury. All in St Patrick's wish Anto a speedy recovery & hopefully this injury set back will not interfere with his rise up the inter county career ladder. We expect the match to be refixed at a later date.

Congratulations to the St. Pats U11 blue football team for a brilliant performance and result against Eire Og on Wednesday evening. Massive credit to all players who showed great skill, commitment and passion. Training continues Sat 12-1pm only (no Friday training for the next 2 weeks). Cheers Steven, Tom, Conor and Paul.
