Arklow Geraldine Ballymoney's GAA club notes

June 19, 2017

AGBs U10 girls travelled to Bray on Saturday morning in glorious sunshine to participate in a Blitz. The girls played brilliantly and really enjoyed the games. The U12 girls were in action against Baltinglass last Tuesday evening and although the Baltinglass side dominated the match, our AGB girls kept their focus and continued to battle on. Huge improvements can be seen with this promising young Arklow team. The U14 Girls also hosted a home game on Thursdayevening and welcomed Kilcoole to Pearses Park. A tough game was played out, but the AGB girls did their best against a very strong team. The U14 girls are out in action at home in Pearses Park again this Thursday against St. Pats.  Best of luck to all the ladies teams in action this week.

The Junior Ladies will resume their league matches this Wednesday when they will face Kilcoole at home, in Pearses Park. Throw in is at 7pm. Best of luck to our ladies.

A Special Thank You to all who supported our Ladies collection on the doors of Super Valu last weekend. Thank you to Pettits' Super Valu for the venue and to all from our ladies team who generously gave their time to collect.

AGBs U11 Boys travel to Baltinglass on Wednesday evening to play them. The U7/U9 Boys will travel to Ballinakill on Saturday to play in a monster blitz. Training has now resumed for our U17 team also, who will be back playing their league fixtures after a short break for exams.  AGBs U13 and U15 Teams are also continuing their league campaigns. Best of luck to our Juvenile teams in action this week.

AGBs Senior men travelled to Stratford last Tuesday evening. With some players missing due to exams, the team faced a stronger Stratford side. Stratford put the AGB men through their paces, and

the match ended in Stratford's favour with a final score of 0-06 to 1-13.  Scores on the night were from Philip Healy(2), Cormac Hyland (1), Stephen Hurley(2), Darragh Culleton(1).

The first championship match has been confirmed with Tinahely for the Senior Men, date and time to be announced.

AGBs Junior B Team travelled to Avoca last Thursday night where a young AGB team had a convincing win over a strong Avoca team. Huge efforts were put in by the AGB men, who were the winners on the night with the final score 2-11 to 1-8. Goals scorers on the night were Ian Bracken and Garrett Kenny, and the points were secured by Ian Braken (3), Darragh Culleton (2), Quentin O Reilly (1), Alan McBride(3), Jack Furlong (1), and Ciaran O Shea (1).

AGBs Junior B Team are away Avondale on Thursday evening, throw in is 7.30pm.

Pettits' Super Valu Arklow, are running a promotion from 22nd June called "Behind the Ball". The promotion will give AGB the opportunity to win some much needed footballs for our Juvenile section. The  idea is that the Customer shops in store and spends over 20 euro, the Customer uses their Real Rewards Card, the till prints a receipt then the customer chooses their club to support and drops receipt into our Collection Unit. This will run for 9 weeks, so whichever club reaches 2000 receipts first will win a set of footballs for their club. So please spread the word and let's win these for AGB.
