The new Wicklow senior hurling manager is set to be ratified in the coming days.

Former Glenealy and Wexford manager Seamus Murphy is the selection committee's preferred choice to take over from fellow county man Martin Storey.

Five candidates were interviewed for the position, but Murphy is believed to have impressed the most as he brings a wealth of experience to the role.

The Wicklow People added that current St Pat's manager Michael Neary is to be brought in as part of the coaching staff.

Murphy will be put forward for ratification at next Monday night's county board meeting, where new minor football manager Martin Ging will also be ratified.
