St Patricks club notes

May 16, 2016

Another desperately sad loss within Wicklow GAA with the news that former President of the GAA Jack Boothman has passed away. The proud Blessington clubman was the 31st President of the GAA between 1994 and 1997. Our sincerest condolences to the Boothman Family and all in Blessington GAA Club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

A big thank you to everyone who came and supported the Feile table quiz last Friday night. We had a full house. Special thanks goes out to Colin O Brien, Peter Loughlin, Lorraine O'Reilly, Saoirse O'Reilly, Aine Cahill, Bar Man Eddie Leonard and our excellent quiz master Eugene Dooley.

It is the qualifier route for Dean, Johnny and Conor and all involved with our County Wicklow Senior Football team after a really gallant effort in the Leinster Senior Football Championship against Laois in O'Moore Park Portlaoise. They can't be faulted for effort and creativity over the 70 odd minutes.

Congratulations to Jack Fox and Callum Kelly on representing county Wicklow u14 team on Saturday 14th May. They had games against Clare and Longford and were victorious in both games. The St Pats under 16 hurlers had a league match on Monday 9th May, in Kiltegan against Michael Dwyers. This was a very good game of hurling, with a lot of skill and determination from both teams. Our lads put in a great effort and earned a draw of 1-08 each.

The wet Tuesday evening didn't put our U8 hurlers off as they went through their steps at St Patricks National School, getting ready for Go Games in Eire Og last Friday. This weeks worthy winners of the coveted player of the week were Eoin Traynor u7 and Cathal Cannon u8. Well done boys! A big thank you goes out to our lotto sellers this weekend! The team was Tim Kavanagh, Peter Loughlin, Garret O'Reilly and David Caffrey. If you can spare a few hours to sell lotto tickets if everyone helped out, you would only have to go out once or twice a year this is our bread and butter and we urgently need lotto sellers. We are looking for all parents from both U14 Féile teams to participate over the next 8 weeks. To put your name down you can contact Kathryn Fox 086 314 9233.

There was no winner of this week's Club Lotto Jackpot of €4,050 Numbers drawn were 16, 20, 23 and 25. The bonus number was 3. Congratulations to Victoria Egan who matched 3 numbers winning the €250 prize.
