Fergal Ogs club notes

April 25, 2016

Our club nursery was in full swing on Thursday with an abundance of children participating in the activities. Many thanks as always to all of the parents who helped coaching them. The nursery will continue on Thursdays from 5-6pm on the clubs main pitch.
Our U8's and U10's played host to Kilmacanogue on Friday 22nd. There were two great games of hurling on show with impressive performances across the pitch. From our U8's, Brandon Mitchell and Theo McKenna deserve a special mention, as they consistently won the ball and kept the Fergal Ógs scoreline ticking over. Well done to all the team of Joshua Temple, Szymon Siwczok, Arianna Mahon, Natalie Cymerkiewicz, Cameron Mahon, Evan Wakefield, Brandon Mitchell and Theo McKenna. Many thanks to John O'Toole for managing the team on the evening.
The U10's match was a nip and tuck affair with not an inch being given, making for a tightly contested clash which saw its fair share of broken ash. Dennis Vickers again led his side in the scoring department, while himself and Cian Egan also linked up well in midfield, and constantly found the forwards to create further scoring opportunities for their side. At the back Laura Higgins stopped many Kilmac attacks in their tracks, while Adam Windsor put in another good shift in goal, and made some impressive puck outs down the wings. Well done to all the team of Adam Windsor, Robert, Eddie, Laura Higgins, Dennis Vickers, Nikola Vuletic, Caithlin, Adam Murray, Mikolay Laczyk, Danielle Doyle and Cian Egan. Both groups will be playing away from home over the next few weeks, so best of luck to all involved.
Our U12's footballers will be playing Barndarrig at home on Monday 25th. They will also be playing a hurling match v Kilmac during the week, date TBC.
Our men's footballers played An Tochar in their second match of the Div 4 North league on Thursday 21st. The game was a tight affair for the most part, with only a couple of points seperating the sides with fifteen minutes left on the clock. Unfortunately An Tochars superior fitness levels paid dividend in the closing minutes,  seeing them bag three goals in quick succession to claim the spoils with the final score being An Tochar 3-11 Fergal Ógs 0-8.
Our men's hurlers will be playing their opening tie of the junior hurling league on Wed 27th, when they'll take on Arklow Rocks Parnell at Schools Road.
The clubs golf classic will take place on Sat May 14th. Cost: €90 per team of 3. The fee includes the cost of your food etc. Its a vital fundraiser for the club and all help is appreciated. Contact Ger Flanagan @ 0892268952 if you wish to enter a team.
Beidh a bheith nios no nuacht an tseachtain seo chugainn.
