Blessington GAA Development Draw - Our 2015 Club Development Fundraiser took place on Sunday 15 Nov at the Blessington GAA Juvenile Annual Race and Family Fun Day in Punchestown. Draw was proudly sponsored by Joe Mallon Motors and Dunnes Stores. It was a great turnout and a very lucky day for 3 of our clubs members - Ist Prize: A Dacia Duster was won by Darren Behan. 2nd Prize: One year's shopping at Dunnes Stores was won by John and Kathleen Magee and 3rd Prize: One year's supply of motor fuel from Topaz was won by Michael O'Leary. Well done to you all. Other prizes on the day were won by the following: 1.05pm race - 1st prize €50 - Kevin McCluskey, 2nd Prize €30 - Sinead Nolan and Jamie Clow and 3rd Prize €20 - Jason O'Connor. 1.40pm race - Ist Prize €50 - Ciaran Phibbs, 2nd Prize €30 - Willie Clarke and 3rd Prize €20 - Eugene Shortt. 2.15pm Racce = 1st Prize €50 - Noel Gladney, 2nd Prize €30 - Neil Sargent and 3rd Prize €20 - Stephen Hanlon. 2.45pm Race - 1st Prize €50 - Eoin O'Sullivan, 2nd Prize €30 - Vera Reid, 3rd Prize €20 - Michael O'Connell. 3.20pm Bumper Race - 1st Prize €200 - Larry Swan, 2nd Prize €100 - Susan Caldwell and 3rd Prize €50 - John Hennessy. 3.55pm Race - 1st Prize €50 - Rob Buckley, 2nd Prize €30 - Vera Reid and 3rd Prize €20 - Frank Grogan. Martin Shannon, Chairman of Blessington GAA Juvenile Section thanked all the sponsors of the Raceday especially Dunnes Stores, Blessington and Mallon Motors, Naas, Co Kildare. Their support and all the support is a wonderful lifeline to help the continued success of the GAA Club and it's many teams turning out each week. AGM - Club AGM will be held in the Avon Ri on Monday week 23 Nov at 8pm. If you are interested in what is going on in the club please come along and maybe get involved. The club is always looking for new members.

Senior Notes

Div 1 Bray 4-14 Coolkenno 0-6. So playoffs now for relegation for Blessington, Bray and Baltinglass. Draw will take place Mon night at fixtures meeting.


Ladies Notes

Seniors - Ladies Senior Cup Final will be held on Sunday 22 Nov  v Tinahely at 2pm. Venue TBC.


Blessington LGFA Winter 7's 2015 -  Sat 14 Nov - Results from Week 2: St Kevins CC 15 - 50 Tinahely. Baltinglass 35 - 19 St Kevins CC. Tinahely 48 - 20 Blessington 2. Blessington 1 48 - 15 Baltinglass. Blessington 2 26 - 15 Blessington 1.Blessington 2 took home the bragging rights on the local derby!!

Sat 21 Nov - Eadestown v Baltinglass @ 5pm.  Baltinglass v Coolkenno @ 5.25pm. Blessington 1 v Eadestown @ 5.50pm. Coolkenno v Blessington 1 @ 6.15pm.

Juvenile Notes:

 

Ray Daniels Cup Fixtures 2015 - Round 2 away v Coolkenno was cancelled on Sat 14 Nov due to adverse weather conditions and will be re-fixed at a later date.

 

Allen Cup Fixtures 2015 - Round 2 at home to Tinahely which was to be played this weekend will be re-fixed at a later date.

 

Training

Goalkeeping coaching workshop presented by Gary Matthews on Sat 28 Nov in Ballinakill from 10am - 12.30pm. All club goalkeepers and Club coaches are invited to attend, Contact Paul Garrigan on 083 4366801. €5 per coach.

Lotto

The Lotto jackpot of €13,400 on 3 Nov was not won. Numbers drawn were 3,4,26,27. We had 3 match who matched 3 numbers and each receive €100. Next draw in on 17 Nov with a jackpot of €13,600. ·           The club would like to extend our thoughts and prayers for all those who died or were injured in Paris tragedy on Fri 13 Nov. Ar Dheis Dé, go raibh a h'anamacha dilís.

·           Lisa Jackson is organising a "Football Boot Exchange". More details to follow.
