 Senior Teams

The game everyone was waiting for took place on Sunday with St. Pat's playing Rathnew in the Senior Football Champaionship. The new stand not due for its official opening for a few weeks was temporarily opened due to the heavy rain. St. Pat's got off to a great start with a goal from Eamonn Wolfe coming in the first 10 minutes making the score 1-01 to a point in favour of St. Pat's. The lads racked up another 3 points before half time, leading 1-06 to 0-03 going in at the break. Rathnew had the wind in the second half so a close game was expected, but St. Pat's held a strong defence and grabbed another 4 points before the final whistle leaving the game 1-10 to 0-04 at full time. Each player from 1 to 15 including the substitutes played a brilliant game all round and it was an excellent game throughout. A big thank you to all the supporters who travelled to Aughrim and cheered on St. Pat's in the lashing rain. Roll on the quarter final!

Our Senior Ladies were also out this week in the Championship. They played away to Valleymount in what was a high scoring game for the girls. The final score ended 6-17 to 2-08 in favour of St. Pat's. They now face Tinahely on the 7th August in their last game of the group. Also a huge well done to one of our Senior Ladies Jennifer Lyons who took part in this year's Regatta Queen competition.
