Westmeath 1-22
Wicklow 2-10
A five star performance from Niall O'Brien laid the foundations for Westmeath's victory over Wicklow in Mullingar.
O'Brien was on fire for the hosts and he struck 1-7 in the first half as they recovered from a sluggish start to go in at the break with a 1-12 to 2-3 lead.
The Lake County conceded two goals in the opening 11 minutes but, once they got their act together at the back, they pulled away for a merited victory.
O'Brien added four points to his personal tally after the restart as Michael Ryan's side recorded a nine point win.
The result leaves Westmeath on six points, the same as Carlow who will visit Cusack Park on Sunday, March 22nd.
