Defeats for Garden U17s

November 20, 2014

Wicklow suffered defeats in their second and third outings in the new Leinster U17 football league.

Having beaten Wexford in their opener, the Garden County went in confidently against Carlow at Baltinglass last Wednesday but fell to an unlucky 2-8 to 0-11 defeat.

The damage was done in the first half as the Barrowsiders built up a 1-5 to 0-1 interval advantage.

On Saturday, Laois were the visitors to Bray and the match was played on the club's astro turf pitch; this time John Murphy's charges went under on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-7.

In the end, Wicklow finished with one win from three. It's all preparation for next summer's Leinster MFC and the manager hopes to strengthen his squad before then.
