Squad News
Last weekend saw a break from GCA activities for our U16 & U15 squads due to a clash with club activities.
The U14 squad were rested due to club activities but had an informative morning learning about match analysis,changes in their S & C programs & a session on goal setting. Full report in U14 news on gardencountyacademy.com
Our U13 squad underwent comprehensive skills tests in beautiful summer conditions with over 50 players put through their paces by our coaches. Test results will be forwarded to all players before the next session on Sept 20th.
Committee News
A meeting last week between representatives of Croke Park, Leinster Council, Wicklow Co Board & the GCA committee lead to a commitment of aid in the form of financial & other resources subject to some conditions yet to be thrashed out. This is a significant milestone for the GCA which now sees the GCA working together with senior figures at national & provincial level to implement further improvements to our underage county teams.
Recent personnel changes on the GCA committee has seen the departure of some committee members due to time constraints & the imminent introduction of several new faces. Thanks to Joe, Gerry & Niall for all the work they have dedicated to the GCA over the past 18 months ! Fáilte mór to our new team members.
