U14 hurlers enjoyed Meath trip
July 24, 2014The Development Squad group were at the Royal County's Centre of Excellence for the Leinster Blitz last Saturday morning and their 25-strong squad travelled full of confidence as preparations had been thorough.
Kildare provided the opposition in Wicklow's opening game, which was a close contest until the Lilywhites pulled away in the closing stages for a six-point success.
Down were next up and unfortunately the Garden County fell to another defeat, perhaps feeling the effects of a lengthy wait between games as the northerners looked sharper from the off.
Even though the young lads didn't manage to get a victory on their travels, the experience of playing against players of a similar standard from other counties will surely serve them well in the future. Tweet
