The county board are looking for stewards to help at the wicklow v laois leinster championship game in aughrim in may. They are providing a one day course in aughrim and the course will offer a qualification for stewarding at any event .The course is a great opportunity for someone to gain such a useful qualification and is free of charge, which makes it all the more appealing. To be put forward for this , please contact chucky or any committee member and they will give you more info.
COUNTY SCENE
Congratulations to the wicklow hurlers on gaining promotion to division 2A of the national hurling league following their hard fought win over Down at the weekend, especially to club representitives Ted and Liam Kennedy, T J Hennessy , Graham Keogh , Emmet o Sullivan who is a selector and Robert Doyle who is training the team. We all look forward now to the christy ring which starts next month. Well done also to the footballers for their heroics down in Tipperary, scoring 3 goals of the dying minutes to snatch victory from the home team. Unfortunately this wasn't enough to gain promotion.
BEST OF LUCK
Good luck to Damien Osbourne on opening his new shop in Dublin next to croke park. Hopefully the people of Carnew and Wicklow will have plenty of days to call in for a bit of grub and a chat. Also we wish Niall and Roisin all the best for their bog day on Friday. Hopefully marriage won't affect his presence in the field!
