Pitches – Unfortunately, it has been decided to close all pitches this week so that remedial works can take place and hopefully they can re-open next weekend.

St Patrick’s Day parade - Well done to all who took part in the Blessington St Patrick’s Day parade.

Lotto – No winner of the jackpot this week of €3000. Numbers drawn 9,14,15,22. Well done to Marion McNally who matched 3 numbers and won €300. Next draw on Wed 27 March in The Avon. Jackpot €3200. Due to our new bingo starting the Lotto will now be held this Wed to coincide with the launch of our bingo.  Thanks for continued support.

Club Registration – For anyone who has not registered yet forms are available on our website. Registration evenings will be held on Tues and Thurs to 28 Mar in the clubhouse 7.45pm – 9.30pm. Blessington GAA Easter Camp – Mon and Tues 15 and 16 Apr 10am to 2pm. Cost 1 Child - €20. 2 children €35. 3 children €55. 4 children €70. Leinster Post Primary - Naas CBS defeated Colaiste Eoin Stillorgan 4-9 t0 2-9 in the Leinster post primary schools A semi final. They will play on Wed 20 Mar with 3 Blessington GAA players – Conall O’Gallchobhair, Ethan Cotter and Kevin Quinn. However, they will meet the Wicklow school’s selection which means they will be playing against their own teammate Craig Maguire. Good luck to all.

Wicklow footballers – Hard luck to the lads on the result against Antrim on Sat 16 Mar. Next up is London next weekend.

Wicklow U14 girls - Our Wicklow U-14 Ladies Football Team were narrowly defeated by Carlow but still top the group due to the big win over Louth last week and are now in the Leinster Semi Final. Well done to Emily Rose O’Toole, Aisling Brennan & Elaine O’Dwyer.

Seniors –Well done to the lads who beat St Pats on 17 Mar – 0-15 to 2-6. Team - Peter Manning, Barry Murphy, Jack Gilligan, Aaron Curran, Caolan McGorman, Kevin Hanlon, Danielius Saukauskas, David Boothman, Eoin Keogh (0-2), Stephen Carroll, Kevin John Rodgers, Jack Cotter, Mikey O’Connor (0-7), Anthony McLoughlin (0-4), Curtis Geraghty (0-1). Div 3 – Hard luck to the lads who lost on Sat 16 Mar away v Tinahely 1-10 to 0-7.

 

Ladies

Wicklow Ladies – Excellent win for Wicklow ladies who ran out winners 5-16 to Offaly 1-5. Well done to Kim Connors.

Camogie – Calling all Blessington Camogie players. Girls of all ages. If you want to start or continue playing camogie with a vibrant and successful club we are taking new members in Donard Glen. For more details contact 086 3598866 [email protected].

 

Juveniles

U17’s – Sun 24 Mar Blesso v Tinahely at home.

U15’s – Training Astro Monday 18 Mar 6pm to 7:20pm, Wed 20 7pm Fight Fit Dojo, Sunday 24 beep test 6:pm to 7:30pm. New players always welcome born 2004 and 2005 contact Kevin on 0876123203.

U8/U9’s - U8’s & U9’s boys training on Wed at 6.30 to 7.30. New boys always welcome.

U7’s - The U7 boys’ team will meet on Saturdays from 10am to 11am. Any queries contact Emer McIntyre Reape on [email protected]

Academy – Academy for boys and girls aged 4 to 6 is held every Sat at 10am. There is no charge for the first couple of weeks for new kids. Further info from Graham 0876393125.

Hurling

Hurling – Girls and boys of all abilities aged 6 and upwards are invited to join the Blessington GAA Hurling Club where you will learn to play an exciting sport in a fun and relaxed environment. All ages train regularly. If any child is interested please join our WhatsApp group b sending your name and phone number and email to Jack Whelan @0876678936 and we will keep you up to date with everything that is happening with hurling in Blessington, Valleymount, Kilbride and Lacken. Volunteers are always needed, so if any Mums or Dads wishing to relive their glory days on the pitch are welcome to help. Send your details to Jack and register your interest. All welcome. We look forward to meeting all our new players.

Wicklow Cul Camps 2018 – www.wicklowculcamps.gaa.ie from 1 Mar 18. Only 200 places for football camp (8 July) and 150 for the hurling camp (22 July).

Blessington Bingo Returns - Start Date Wed 27 March. Cost €10 which includes Jackpot and flyer sheets.

West Wicklow Wellbeing Workshop - Lisa Jackson - Blessington GAA new Health and Wellbeing Officer would like to promote the West Wicklow Wellbeing Workshop among our members and the wider Blessington Community. Starting on Thurs 4 April in The Avon at 7.30pm for 5 sessions. This is FREE OF CHARGE to attend but places need to be booked. Please contact Lisa on 086 3767534 to book a place. Over 18's only. This is a terrific workshop and for it to be held in Blessington is a great opportunity for everyone to avail of it. Physio - Upstairs in the clubhouse on Weds at 7pm. Adults needing full physio appointments MUST go through Pat Molloy and Juvenile through Barry Cotter.

Confirmation – Good luck to all the girls and boys who will be celebrating their confirmation next weekend.

Car parking at the pitch - Can all who use the Blessington GAA Astro and Pitches please Reverse In, Drive Out please? There are a lot of children who use the grounds and they have a habit of just running out. Please respect the job that our Health and Safety Officer Annmarie (or anyone else assigned to assist with parking) must do and if you are asked to move your vehicle and park correctly please do so without a fuss.

Clothing Collection ongoing - collecting good quality second hand clothing suitable for re-use. Please fill as many black bin bags as you can – the more we collect, the more our club receives.
