St Patricks club notes

January 07, 2019

Congratulations to Dean Healy who is the County Wicklow Football Captain for 2019.

It was a massive disappointment for Wicklow to loose to Laois by a single point  in the O'Byrne Cup having lead at half time in Bray Wicklow 2-04 Laois 0-06. It finished with the full time score Wicklow 2-10 Laois 2-11. The team showed a huge improvement this week and there can only be positives drawn from it. Well done to our Club man Dean Healy who captained the team in a man of the match performance.

It has been announced that Wicklow GAA and Wicklow Ladies Football following discussions between all parties, have agreed that the Lidl NFL match v Down LGFA on Sunday, 10th February will form part of a double bill in our GAA county grounds Aughrim with a throw in of 12 o’clock and the Allianz GAA NFL Match v Limerick following at 2pm (Irish weather permitting). This is the first time a double bill featuring our Ladies and Men’s football teams has been agreed and sanctioned and is surely a sign of the cooperation which now exists between our two sporting bodies.
