Night at the dogs – Blessington GAA night at the dogs at Newbridge on Fri 30 Nov 8pm. Sponsored by Dunnes Stores Blessington. €10 ticket will entitle you to entry on the night and for some great prizes also. Total prize fund €3600. First race at 8pm. Buster Draw One – 1st Prize €750, 2nd prize €400, 3rd Prize €200. Buster Draw two - 1st Prize €750, 2nd prize €400, 3rd Prize €200. 5 prizes of €100. You can nominate a dog for €50 which entitles you to entry to the dogs on the night and a prize of €100 if dog wins the race. Club AGM – Blessington GAA AGM on Mon 26 Nov in the Baile Coimin Centre at 7.30pm. Notice of AGM has been sent out by email. Anyone who is a member and hasn’t received an email please text Noreen on 0872858375 with their email address. Last of the paperwork will be sent out before the AGM. If you are a member please come along. It’s your club.

Awards night - U11 to U17 boys will be held in St Kevin’s Hall on Sat 1 Dec at 6.30pm.

Scór na nÓg - The Scór na nÓg County Final was held in St Kevin’s Hall, Blessington on Sun 18 Nov. This is the 50th Year of Scór and Blessington GAA were delighted to host the event for the 2nd year. There were increased numbers participating and a great crowd in attendance. Clubs who attended were: AGB, Ballymanus, Blessington, Kilbride/Lacken, Kilmacanogue and Stratford Grangecon. There is brilliant talent in the County. Well done to all. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day - Ivan on sound, front of house - Eoin, Bernadette, Corina, Ailish, Mary, Sandra, Barry, Catherine, Pat and Noreen. Thanks to all who donated raffle prizes. The winners will represent Wicklow in the Leinster Semi-final in Allenwood on Sun 9 Dec.

Girls Presentation Night – Presentations took place on Wed 14 Nov in the Community College. Awards from U8 up to U16 were presented. Special guests Mick Bohan and Lauren Magee from the Dublin Ladies with the Brendan Martin Cup once again. A packed house once again for Jess and all her coaches. Terrific stuff indeed. What a way to celebrate 25 years of ladies football in the club.

Well done to the ladies on a very successful year.

U7 & U9 Awards – The awards were held in St Joseph’s Hall on Sat 17 Nov and all the boys received their medals for the year. Well done to all the coaches who had a great day with the lads on the astro earlier in the day.

Fixtures

U20’s – Hard luck to the lads who lost out to a spirited Baltinglass side at home in the Semi-Final on Sun 18 Nov. That’s it now for the lads and coaches. Enjoy the break.

U15’s – On Wed 14 Nov the lads played away V Rathangan with 12 players unavailable due to injury. It was always going to be tough. Lads played out to end and improved in 2nd half but lost by 9 points.

Sun 17 Nov the U15s played Sallins at home. Blessington dominated the first half and were 2 points ahead on the half time having had a couple of goal chances. Game was even up to the last 10 mins with but Sallins finished out with a goal and 2 points to win 2-07 to 0-09. Next up is St Laurences away on Fri 23 Nov and Fr Prendergast Gaels away Sun 25 Nov to finish out the NKL league.

Ladies 25 anniversary mugs, pens, wristbands, boot bags etc for sale. These will be collector’s items in a couple of years so make sure you get yours. Contact Jess on 0868602822.

Clothing Collection ongoing - collecting good quality second hand clothing suitable for re-use. Please fill as many black bin bags as you can – the more we collect, the more our club receives.
