St Patricks club notes

December 04, 2017

Well done to Kathryn Fox and DCW on their Senior B semi-final win in Dunbur Park Wicklow against Blessington Community College. At half time DCW lead 3-0 to 0-7. A game of two contrasts, DCW could get in for goals and Blessington were excellent at point kicking from short and long range,10 came from play and two from frees. Full time score: Blessington Community College 0-12 Dominican Convent Wicklow 5-04. Best for Dominican College Wicklow: Megan Dunne in goals was JUST unbeatable, Sarah Evans, Aine Cahill, Kellie Phelan, Lucy Dunne, Amy Kavanagh and Siobhan Gorman who all put in a massive effort help their school to reach the final.

Hard luck to Wicklow Senior Schools who were beaten by 2 points by Louth Schools 1-15 to 2-10 in Roundwood on Wednesday. Hard luck to our own Padge McWalter coach, and players Jack Dunne, Patrick O'Keane, Matthew Traynor and Ronan Murray.

Hard luck to our neighbours and Wicklow Champions Glenealy who were so close to claiming a first Leinster Intermediate Hurling title in Kilkenny against the Kilkenny champions. It finished St. Patrick's, Ballyragget (Kilkenny) 0-19 Glenealy (Wicklow) 1-15. Well done to Glenealy who showed Wicklow have good hurlers and can compete with the best.

As Eddie Leonard retired from his position of Club Registrar, anyone who is interested in the vacant positions within St Patrick's GAA Club please contact Club Secretary Michael Murphy - [email protected]
