Live GAA games on UK TV

(Oldest Posts First)

What is the story for this year, will any channel in the UK be showing the games?

With championships coming to an end I was weighing up wether I should keep my premier sports subscription for the winter months. The website says it will be showing club championship but also says it shows classic gaa every day, which it doesnt. This is my first year with premier. Did they show club championship last year??

Thanks for any help

They did show club games last year, I think they basically showed any games that were televised on TG4. I remember this because I missed the St Galls/Crossmaglen game as they were sampling putting English the commentary over the Irish commentary that TG4 broadcast.

They also picked up the NFL and NHL from the end of January. I phoned up to cancel my subscription last September at the end of the Championship and they gave me three months half price as I said I wouldn't be watching anything until the NHL started up.

Bringing up the Premier Sports side of things - I was looking at subscribing for this year but at £9.99 p/mth I wanted to see if anyone has any experience as to whether or not it's worth it.

I only want it for the GAA so what's the coverage like in this respect?

Any responses would be appreciated.

I think it's a rubbish service. You're much better getting an Irish sky card.

Premier sports has gone to the dogs, they haven't shown any club hurling at all this year, all they show is NRL or old celtic games, I've got rid of my subscription.

Do not buy premier sports GAA coverage was shocking in 2012, they showed some Mickey Mouse rugby Match over the all Ireland QF, it was the final straw for me. Cancelled my direct debit, they chased me up asking for 3 months owed, told them where to go........still waiting for the debt collectors to knock on the door!!

Is it just me who is getting regular calls from Premier Sports offering me cut price deals to tempt me back? To be honest the channel is very poor, Gaa coverage is awful and they dont broadcast in HD.

Despite the comments on here about appalling coverage I called Premier Sports to say I wanted to try it but would only do so with a discount. They refused to budge at all. They wouldn't offer a discounted monthly fee for any time and they wouldn't waive the sign up fee of a tenner either.

Given the reviews are poor and they won't give any incentives I decided to carry on without it. I'll just have to make do with The Sunday Game on the RTE site a few days later.

ustream.tv stream all the games you can buy a season pass for £15. I think its just direct from premier sports so coverage is pants but is much cheaper than subscribing through sky or heading to the pub.
