1493563 Lads...facts can be misleading...were Urney and Stewartstown both willing to play the game on Sunday at the time and venue put forward by the county board...hear say tells me no ;)

Didn't know they had reformed.

Not well up on teen bands...

The game should have been played on Friday night I think all sane people know that...Urney rightly wanted to get an advantage so didn't agree to Friday...but my point is the county board should have fixed it for Friday regardless...you can't expect a team to turn up the opportunity of gaining an advantage if you have that choice
Like I said it isn't totally correct to say they offered to play on Sunday as from what I believe they wouldnt play at the time or venue put forward by the county board...I may be misinformed and open to correction...
Now the story I'm hearing is that Urney have players unavailable on Monday, according to the spokesman, which isn't fair either.
A lot of jockeying for position here and it now looks like it may have backfired for Urney...

Simple fact is that the game was scheduled for Saturday and should have been played on Saturday! Its unprecedented that a governing body move a Championship Semi to accommodate a Wedding thus being detrimental to the team that have done nothing wrong, why now?
Believe me I have no allegiances to Urney but they are getting the raw end of the deal here!
Another fact is that Urney requested to get a game moved during the season due to a Club Fundraiser and this was turned down. Where in the rule book does it say what type of function is required for a game to be moved? Would the game have been moved if an Urney player was getting married? Shambles!!

Should never have been scheduled for Saturday in the first place as the CB were aware of the wedding before scheduling the game...it would have been different if they hadn't have known...a lot of parties at fault...mess!

Agree with that, if they knew about the wedding should never have been scheduled for the Saturday. However it was and therefore shouldn't have been changed. A mess is correct!

Representatives from both teams should have been brought together and an alternative date agreed...all teams need to realise that It's impossible to get a date that suits everyone completely and both teams need to show a degree of empathy and flexibility.
Playing this gamevon Saturday would have been the wrong thing to do and would have resulted in a hollow victory for Urney...I don't think any sporting person would have been in favour of that...sense prevailed and the game was refixed but maybe more consultation was needed before setting the new date.
From what I understand both teams will be missing a couple of key players on Monday so not ideal for either side but it has to be better than a farce of a game which Saturday would have been.
Good luck to both teams...along with Rock and Eskra.

Time will tell Cusacks...from what I hear you have a full squad available for Monday so Urney should have every chance indeed...

Not affiliated with either Stewartstown or Eskra, but do play in Div 2. I think it's extremely harsh that Stewartsown are forced into this position. Although to be fair, Clonoe had to do the same last weekend so there is a precedent.

The county board as per usual is to blame because they don't care about lads having lives or indeed player welfare having the league and Championship run into October. The GAA blabs on about this amateur assiociation, the only thing amateur is men making decisions in fairness.

The league and championship should be over long, long ago. A lot of current players are actually being driven away from the game because the enjoyment is being slowly and surely torn from the players every year.

Can you clarify why it's the CB's fault that the championships are still ongoing? Was a motion to start the championships in June not rejected by the clubs as it would have a detrimental effect on their league chances if they were put out of the championship? Were games not deterred by teams refusing to play without minor players despite the rulebook stating that this is not to happen? Clubs need to take responsibility as well

Look lads if you's put it this way....if you were in a championship semi final and you had your wedding on the same day would you not want it changed?...the game should of been Friday from the start as stewartstown had out in a request before the games were fixed! Stewartstown also didn't turn down to play on Sunday as we took any day but Saturday! Also very harsh on urney if they are missing men but it wouldn't have happened if the game was on friday? Fixtures all year have been a joke!

Urney through...Stewartsown very wasteful and can only have themselves to blame for not reaching the final...not sure what the wide count ended up but it was a lot.
Urney were a lot more economical and have a fighting chance in the final.
