A GAA club in Tyrone has joined the search for missing former player Jordan Gallagher.

Members of Strabane Sigersons are assisting with the search which is taking place along the banks of the River Foyle and Mourne on both sides of the border. The area around Lifford Bridge was closed for a period on Saturday as part of the emergency operation.

It's understood that Jordan, who is in his early twenties, was last seen on Saturday evening close to his home in Ballycolman. In asking for help to bring the young man home, the club said in a Facebook post: “We are appealing to any club members available to assist in the search for our friend and former club player Jordan Gallagher.”

An updated post last night read: "Unfortunately again, today's search has yielded no results. Another night returning home without you J.

“Tomorrow (Wednesday 6th March) we will continue to search to bring our boy home.”
