Limerick trounced Tipperary by 2-27 to 0-18 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds this afternoon to record their second win in as many weeks in the Munster senior hurling championship.

It was business as usual for the All-Ireland champions as they won out comfortaby here, with the only down side being a serious ankle injury sustained by corner-forward Peter Casey in the 53rd minute.

The holders had led by five points at half-time and found the net via Aaron Gillane eight minutes into the resumption just as Tipp looked to be gathering some momentum.

That goal knocked the stuffing out of the visitors as Tom Morrissey, Gillane and Cathal O’Neill helped raise the Limerick tally to 1-22 before Casey put the game to bed with a goal from a tight angle.

However, the Na Piarsaigh clubman suffered what looked like a nasty ankle injury after hitting the net which led to him being stretchered off as his side went on to win by 15 in the end.
