Kerry picked up their third win in this year’s Allianz Football League campaign by seeing off Tyrone on a 0-18 to 1-11 scoreline in Killarney this afternoon.

David Clifford led the way for the hosts with 0-8 (6f) over the 70 minutes as they condemned the Red Hands to a third defeat in Division 1, leaving their next outing against neighbours Monaghan as a massive clash in the bid to avoid relegation.

The Munster champions came through a sluggish start to surge clear and take in a 0-11 to 0-6 lead at the half, with Sean O’Shea having seen a shot at goal stopped by Tyrone net-minder Niall Morgan.

Two Clifford frees extended the advantage to seven for Jack O’Connor’s men after the turnaround ahead of Darragh Canavan pulling back two points for the visitors and Ben Cullen making it a five-point game.

Paudie Clifford (0-4), his brother David and Dara Moynihan raised white flags that extended the Kerry tally to 0-17 and they could even afford to ship a Ciaran Daly goal in the closing 10 minutes.
