Panel changes and Paul Kelly injury

(Oldest Posts First)

just after hearing that paul kelly is after breaking his leg in a game between mullinahone and ballybacon.i hope he gets well.it's a pity the timing of the injury because he was just coming into form

the following were dropped from the tipp panel on tuesday night-willie ryan, michael webster, tom stapleton and pa bourke.there may be more but they are the only one's i heard about.

That's a huge shame to hear about Paul Kelly. He has been haunted with injuries.

So how's in if all those lads are out?

Diarmuid Fitzgerald was dropped as well. Theres a guy named John O'Neill who is on the panel now. He played in the Harty Cup with Thurles CBS last year. Not sure what club he is from though. I think the panel was fairly big anyway, shame he didnt send Hugh Maloney packing while he was at it.

Paul Kelly is a bad loss, he has the experience and that extra bit of class thats lacking in the forwards sometimes.

I feel sorry for Paul Kelly. Anyone who puts in this kind of work and playing so well, it is a very difficult set back, particularly for amateur players. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

big loss for tipp as he was playing well and unlike galway ye dont have the strength in depth to replace him. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Kelly will be a big loss. He didnt get much game time last year & this year seemed like the old Paul Kelly very crafty & skillful. He would have been on my starting 15.Were lacking some forwards at the moment & he was one of a few sticking out. Fire - Power lost.

Suprised with a few of the names mentioned that were dropped. Is Darragh Hickey not getting on the panel over what he said to Sheedy last year?

He was a name for the future in 2007 but then went off the radar. His club form seems to be consistent from what I know of.

Sorry to have learned that Paul Kelly broke his ankle as he is a very skillful player and a player that Tipp could do with as he was beginning to show the form of old in the League!!

Paul just dosen't have any luck with injuries.... John O'Neil was to be called up before the league but got injured i think?? Also would the number dropped have anything to do with the training camp their going to in spain to save a few bob!! Think the panel was a bit too big anyway it's down to about 30 again

Yes the panel was too large. It seems that the six players dropped will still be part of an extended training panel but not on the main panel going to Spain.I suppose all six have had enough of opportunities to stake a claim.
