Tipperary football star Aisling McCarthy is set to make her Australian Football League Women's (AFLW) debut this weekend.
McCarthy secured her deal with Western Bulldogs following an international rookie camp that which place in Melbourne last September and is now set to see some game time against Geelong Cats on Saturday night.
The Cahir native will start on the Bulldogs’ interchange bench and, with an unlimited amount of rotations permitted in the AFLW, she is almost certain to get minutes in the Round 2 clash at the VU Whitten Oval.
"McCarthy has impressed on the training track with her power, speed and ball-handling ability, and travelled with the squad for the game in Adelaide last weekend," the Western Bulldogs website states on McCarthy.
