Battle of the south Tubbercurry v Tourlestrane should be a great county final ,Tourlestrane looked the part yesterday really put Curry on the back foot in the first half and were better equiped to handle the conditions. EOH showed he still has alot to offer at club level. Alot of us thought the returing players for Curry would add to there team but the 2 losses in Kenny Morley & Brian Mac proved to be costly for them

Should be a great final. All of the players know each other very well. Lots of ex St Attctas lads on both teams. Who will pick up Kelly? Will Gilmartin be able for O'Hara. What about the battle of the free takers McGee v Quinn & Egan. How will Brian & Gary Curran do ? Their father Mickey played for Tourlestrane in 1978 ! What about the managers ? Both new. Great game ahead

Congrats to Tubbercurry and Tourlestrane on reacing the senior championship final 2013. Both won their semi's in easy fashion and will be a good final. There was large crowds at both semi finals which was great to see, help the county board costs.

Hard to believe a team could be in a county final beating two teams...Molaise Gaels ad Johns...shows what a joke the champioship set-up was. That's not Tubber's fault though.Makes for an interesting final. Tour should have too much in middle between EOH,McIntyre and Henry. Tubber arguably have the better forwards though and are scoring more (even if just against 2 sides!). Tour have better fringe players and Tubber wont have met the intensity that Tour can bring. Tourlestrane in a final are hard to go against. Think they'll win with 4/5 to spare.

Very hard to see past Tourlestrane now but its all on the day. Tour have shown on a few occasions this year how to build up a commanding lead and then take the foot off the peddle and allow the opposition back into the game. Their quality should see them win this especially if the play like they did yesterday for the whole game. Great to see these two teams in the final, 1956 since they last met in a final

Surprisingly one-sided game in Tubbercurry yesterday - it was strange to have a Tourlestrane Curry game in Tubbercurry with little or no atmosphere. Curry didn't have the same hunger as last year and as Tourlestrane yesterday. Morley, McDonagh, the 2 suspended players, the illegal player were all absent and they didn't have the same quality to come into their team. Tourlestrane will be happy with their performance and it was great to see EOH back to form, full back line were very good as was midfield. They will have to improve their shooting for the final though as Tubber forwards are very clinical.

Well I got 2 of my predictions correct. Tubber won and the second game finished without the full quota of players. I was way out in my thinkin that Curry would win but I wasnt to know that the player of the year so far Mc Donagh was missing and that Morley was also absent. Hard to see tour losing this now. Tubber have had a very easy passage to final. They are there on merit but havent played Marys Curry Tour Eastern Harps this year at all not even in league games as they were division 1 side. And in the championship they got to a final by beating just 2 teams 2 teams with no success at Championship level.

Townbuck, they hammered Molaise who deservedly beat Marys. Harps are not the force they once were and they beat St. Johns who people expected to be there or thereabouts. Tubber deserve to be where they are, I have seen some of their performances, you can't take that away from them.

Benny if you read my post I said they were there on merit. My point was they have only beaten 2 average teams with no championship pedigree behind them and as they were a div 1 side for the league they also played inferior opposition. This may come against them in a final where tour are at the top table for years. It wasnt their fault that they only played 2 teams to reach the final. It was the daft structure of the championship

Townbuck - DIV 1 teams. Sham Gaels & St Pats beaten in Quarter final of the Intermediate champ. Div 1 team Bunninadden relegated from Senior champ by Div 2 team Mullinabreena.Semi finals of Intermediate championship , C'connor, Easkey, Calry and Drumcliff are all Div 2 teams. So that puts your argument to bed...................

Bunnies just scraped their survival in Div 1. Likewise the Gaels. Tubber have not played 1 game against the top tems in the county this year. Cant remember who they played in Championship last year but they were a division 1 side last year as well and my point all along is the lack of playing the better teams in the county may hamper them when the final comes around.

You are being a bit harsh on Tubber, obviously not a fan.

For this topic to have over 26,000 viewers is fantastic. Who said that interest in football in Sligo is dead. Brilliant to see new posters and the odd dispute and arguement make it more interesting

Tis great alright Eoinog. A good debate on football and GAA in general is hard bate. I think what has helped is a reappearance of an old poster under a different guise (and county). Surely Townbuck is the old stalwart Sligonian, with a love for Molaise (hidden for now but raising its head in distaste for Tubber after them being hockeyed), and like a dog with bone (an actual bone) with his point in an argument? Just a hunch now. I'll open this one to the floor.

I am not Townbuck but clearly he is a Sligoman. I will never post under another username, anyone that knows me knows that, you really think the last few weeks i would of being able to post hiding my passion for my club considering we got to a semi final and beat harps and marys?. Forget about me, my days on here are for viewing purposes only nowadays. And its great to see more interest in Sligo gaa on here despite our major difficulties.Hopefully be a good club final with a big crowd.

I don't know what you are talking about Benbulben ;) Tubber will be definitely worth a punt on in the final. Tourlestrane aren't invincible and struggled at times against Coolera and if that wobble is repeated, and Tubber click...
