John Cummins is the incoming U/21 football manager. That's a good move by the county board, a man with experience at intercounty level and a winning background. Lets hope he gets all the support he needs because we have some decent players waiting to break through.

Could do with a continuation of the progress made last year. Though I suppose we'll struggle against the powerhouses as always. Lifted this team for another thread from last year. How many of these lads are underage again? And can we get the believe and skill level to beat the likes of Kerry?

Limerick (U21F v Kerry): Brian Scanlon (Gerald Griffin's); Paul Martin (Ballybricken), Mike Sheehan (Fr Casey's), Ray O'Flaherty (St Senan's); Patrick Sheehan (St Mary's/Sean Finns-Rathkeale), Paul Hannon (Newcastlewest), Padraig Quinn (Monaleen); Tom McCarthy (Mountcollins), Padarig Horan (Glin); Seamus O'Carroll (Cappagh), James Kelly (Newcastlewest), Donagh Kelly (capt., Fr Caseys); Patrick O'Donnell (Galbally), Jack Donovan (Galbally), Eoghan O'Connor (St Mary's/Sean Finns-Rathkeale).

went to the clare and kerry games last year. were poor against clare and were 2nd best for 55minutes of that match. only for james kelly and eoghan o connor they would have been embarrassed. they did well for 30minutes against kerry before being beaten handy. then kerry got hammered by cork in the munster final. i must say i when you see the starting lineup you wonder how maurice horan picked some of these guys. i know one guy in particular who is not even starting for his own junior A club but managed to start both games this year against clare and kerry. i know john cummins has been to a lot of premier games and has kept tabs on some of the a division teams so here is hoping that come next march he manages to pick the best young players in limerick,..

they have played quite a few challenges in recent weeks against colleges, with mixed results but last night i went to see them against tipp.. they won 2 13 to 2 10 with some very impressive forward play from thomas quiligan derry o conor and jason brouder, they defended in packs around the middle and caused alot of turnovers but once tipp got past our half back line they created numerous goal chances and if it wasnt for poor finishing we would of conceeded 3 or 4 more goals.. bar the full back line a very solid looking outfit.. missing the lads involves with senior pannel eoghan o conor ian corbett dara tracey james o meara and donal o sullivan so a very positive work out.. well done to cummins and the lads

Limerick GAA will never learn as year after year they shoot themselves in the foot. Limerick v Clare in Munster U21 championship 14th march after the panel has trained for months and the West board proceed to make a full list of West U21 hurling fixtures for the comming weekend.
