Yew-tree you are correct. Problem as I see it Laois still had to play Wicklow when venue was to be announced. Gaa didn't want the headache of Aughrim as a possible venue. They wanted to make a statement that the Dubs would be on the road. Two venues were feasible Nowlan park or O MOORE. Their would have been discussions with all aspects as to the wrongs and rights of game being played in either. Traffic problems and extra seating probably swung it in the decision to opt for Nowlan park. But it was a cowardly decision and not in the spirit of the game. Now we have a game where neither team has home advantage and one team is overwhelming favourite. Interest in this game will be nil. Unless laois can conjure up an early goal.
