Maybe Dublin should have taken part in the Goal match

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Lads some very silly things said here:

(1) A 'former' player being caught drink driving..............the key word is former do not try and besmirch this current bunch of players with that story.

(2) that the dubs are promoting a drink culture, these lads are young men who have sacrificed most likely going on the tear at family weddings etc so they could go out and entertain the likes of us on a horrible day last Sunday, 3 or 4 weeks never mind days on the beer for them is well deserved. How many of you go for a pint before and after watching a county game? Let he who is without sin cast the first...........

I for one have been annoyed about the issue of gouging this week, however, my anger was not with the Dublin panel it was with the pathetic limp wristed approach taken by RTE over it.

Yes I am jealous of the Dublin fans that they get to celebrate an All Ireland but even I have that bit of cop on to try and not slur their victory with the nonsense we are seeing on this thread.

Congrats to the Dub players and fans and drink your fill

Going down to O'Connell street with the "Down with this sort of thing" placard as we speak.

At a player level, Dublin is a genuine dual county, and most of the panel will have both football and hurling championships to finish ASAP. Theyve been left stalled for months now, the rounds will be coming on quick now (champo rounds, not rounds of Bavaria). Theres just no time for meaningless matches, to dither anymore would mean letting your club teammates down, they'll expect their missing intercounty players back in top form

I don't normally jump to peoples defence on here but think the comments in relation to Ulsterman are not warranted on this post. He reponded to the opening post asking two questions - 1, was there a reason they didnt and 2 - do teams normally always play or have others not before. His other post was in response to a poster bringing up the drink driving and he just said it was in the media.

From an Antrim Gaels point the appreciation of what the Dubs did for the Anto game is widely acknowledged within the County so let's not bring up something which is totally unrelated to what is an annual event for GOAL.

Seems there are a lot of ones like dogs on here who hunt in packs, probably know each other outside the forum too.

Ha Ha Ha - is that the best you can come back with. If you actually read (and understood) the post you would see I started by saying I don't normally jump to peoples defence. The difference is there are ones on here who seem to hunt in packs and when one starts to bark the rest follow suit. Of all the comments that have been made it's one poster who umbrage is shown towards.

Dubs have done an awful lot for charity

Raising mental health issues and allowing various charities / campaigns to appear on Dub Jersey

Paul Flynn appearing on TV

The event for Joe Brolly

The event up North

Several present and former players are active members in various charities

Supporting Molly

This thread is a pile of ballsocks

Interesting to see the title of this thread changed from 'Bad form by Dublin' to 'Maybe Dublin should have'...

Silly thread with some silly comments especially regarding Dublin players blowing off a bit of steam, well deserved, but I'm with Offside on this one, was going to post on it myself before I seen he had beat me to it. So go on you guys had a go at UM, what did he say on this thread that caused offence or was it just a case of attack the poster not the post again?

True, benched. I think people see the name and just assume the post is gonna be bullsh*t. I do anyway, apologies to UM/ormo/royaldunne (whichever one it was this time ;-) )
