Larry Tompkins ? Was he not in charge when ye lost to Limerick and Roscommon ?

He sure was, May 11th 2003 Cork 0-6 Limerick 0-16

Colin Corkery scored just 0-1 from play and his marker Diarmuid Sheehy soloed up from his own 40 to put one over the bar.

Mick O'Dwyer - he needs no explanation. He gave me my best days of supporting Kildare and I would give anything to relive them. Thanks Micko
Kieran McGeeney for bringing back pride and making this county a force again after some very dark times perviously.
as for a third? cant think of one worthy just yet.

Cavanman47 - Jack ended a 20 year famine last year at minor. After years of scratching around O'Connor went back and helped put proper underage development structures in place to bring through a decent minor team and then steered them to last years all ireland - won't be too far off this year either.
Paidi was great motivator and remember it being said that he was a great man to have in the dressing room but struggled to see switches etc once the ball was thrown in...also thought he treated Maurice Fitz badly and still have memories of the AI semi in 2001 V Meath where the wheels really came off the wagon...only Kerry game I ever left early!

He was but there was only four managers in the last few decades. They were all longtermers! Morgan had about 15 years, Tompkins 7, Counihan 5 etc. It was between Tompkins and Cuthbert for third place and at least Tompkins got us a couple of Munster titles and an All-Ireland final appearance before things got fubar!

1. Dr. Eamonn O'Sullivan - pioneer of collective training, fitness and skills programmes. way ahead of his time.
2. Mick O'Dwyer - beat the Dubs in 75 & again in 78/9 & the rest is history..... 8 All Irelands in 13yrs with 2 other finals reached in this period & 11 Munsters
3. Eamonn Fitzmaurice - won 2014 against all the odds & narrowly missed out in 2013 and should do the business again this year.

Paudi O Se (gave the team that Luke Built the final push to win the Leinster title, a charismatic figure in Westmeath)

Luke Dempsey (led Westmeath underage to 1 Leinster minor title,1 All Ireland minor title, 2 Leinster under 21 titles, 1 All Ireland under 21 title and built the team that eventually won the Leinster Title).

Mattie Kerrigan (got Westmeath out of division 4 from also rans to a team that had the heart to compete and narrowly lost to the Meath in the 1994 National League semi final at Croke Park, quite a feat at that time)

Delighted to see Kerry folk giving Dr Eamon his dues, I would also have him at Number one, Micko Number two and Paidi Number three, Jack OÇonner is a close call and will surpass Paidi in time I think, Eamon Fitz is seriously up there too, but Dr. Eamon, Mickp and Paidi are my initial three

We wouldn't have Fitzgerald Stadium only for Dr Eamon as well!

I would agree that Micko, Paidi, Jack and Eamon Fitz are all high on the list too.

However a mention should go to the likes of T.F. O'Sullivan and Austin Stack. Not managers per say but without both men's work in organising the GAA in Kerry in the decade after 1900 and selecting and preparing the Kerry teams of that era, we would never have established our unique tradition and place in the GAA's history.

Sad thing is i probably couldnt name 3 in each code but in my 40 odd years

Hurling - Jim Nelson and Sean McGuinness - McGuinness laid the foundations for Nelson to bring the team on imo

Football - Liam Bradley (says it all really about how bad antrim football has been in last 60 years, first Ulster final and Div 2 football, no one else has had us that high that i can remember
