It was impressive that the cavan lad landed the punch I would have expected him to throw it wide

Guys it is not a question of whether the guy deserved to be sent off or not and it is not a debate about the game. I am all for the use of technology to get decisions correct BUT it has to be part of official decision making process and it has to be applied consistently. Otherwise we have the situation where some get tried by tv during games, some get tried after games and some do not get tried at all. We cannot have referees going on solo runs with the rules no matter how correct the outcome - we need to be consistent otherwise there is no point in having rules.

And Cavan did not cover themselves in glory with their attempts to avoid the sending off - they would have been better trying to argue that the referees chance to act had passed. Hard to have much sympathy for them.

Madgeking

I tend to agree,I had a bit of a laugh when I seen him pretend to be injured.I would be very annoyed at him if I was from Cavan. They could have won the game had they had 15 lads on the field fot the remainder of the game.

Biggest mistake Cavan made at halftime was they should have known that they could be looking at a red card so at halftime make the sub and send the guilty party out of the grounds with a team medic to the hospital, do a U turn 100 metres down the road and go home. Ref would have a job looking for you to give you a red card, it would be wrong but tough
