"New Manager's first Championship game won, beating bitter rivals in the process"

I don't think Tyrone people regard Donegal as bitter rivals. Yes its a local derby game but not a long history of bitterness. Tyrones main bitter rival is Armagh full stop and Kerry

I live close to the border of both Donegal and Tyrone and from talking to a few of the lads around Aghyaran, Castlederg and Clady direction, they dont see Armagh as rival's at all anymore. For them there is only one bitter rival at the minute and thats Donegal.

He said last year that he thought we were unbeatable I wonder what's changed his mind this year? Do posters honestly believe that players like Michael Murphy or Aidan O Shea or James o Donoghue believe that Dublin are unbeatable? Not at all.

He mentioned the loss of the two Dublin players and the full back in particular. Now he says we won't know until late summer how big a miss they will be to Dublin I would agree with him there
We will have two lads playing with Dublin who would not be on the team if O Carroll or McCafferty were advailable. So it's obvious they are not as good as the two players I mentioned. Maybe they might not miss them at all but if they do it could be too late when they find out.
As regards Tyrone / Donegal do people on here not realise the amount of people along the border , Strabane C,lady Castlederg Aghyaran Castlefin Lifford Ballybofey Crossroads and surrounding areas who are married into oneanother
R mcNamees mother said Donegal for one
Yes we have a big rivalry but when Ulster is over and done , if Tyrone are going well then I like to see them win
Went back to Croker to see them win in2005, paid 150 euros for a ticket as I was sick listening to people , especially from the south on about Kerry , how they would hammer Tyrone , how they had a second team on the bench so to me it was money well spent that day.
I think M Hart has managed Tyrone in six championship games against Donegal with just one victory. So I imagine that Tyrone would love to beat Donegal
To the Fermanagh poster -- before the pubs were allowed to open in the six counties, where did all the Tyrone border folk go drinking on a Sunday ---- Donegal of course. And where do a lot of them spend their holidays--- Donegal.
Never heard of a Tyrone man going to either Armagh or Derry on their holidays.

A big rivalry has built up between Donegal and Tyrone in recent years and I would include Monaghan in that as well. This is because these teams are successful and are vying for the honours in Ulster. That might change with the emergence of Cavan. I don't think Donegal had any rivals before JMcG arrived as we were winning nothing lol.

I would have to say if Tyrone were playing Donegal tomorrow I'd have to make Tyrone favourites. Mickey is building a fine team and they will be formidable in the next few years.

For me it would be a dream All Ireland final DONEGAL V TYRONE.
The last two ambitions I have left in sport is see Donegal won a minor All Ireland final plus my home club won the county senior final.
But a DONEGAL V TYRONE ALL IRELAND FINAL would be another big wish of mine. Think of all the crack along the border areas and the interest there would be leading to the final. Hope it happens soon.

That final could possibly finally break Dublin, pubs would be drunk dry for a week! and I suspect whoever won the party would go on for a while after.

Love Donegal as a place and always supported them.

Winning an all Ireland no matter what county inadvertenly will bring out clowns who haven't a clue about football and that's been fairly obvious at games last few years. We were the same some years back but enjoy seeing them do well but would love to get one back on them

Never right not dreaming or doting---- just thinking the way I was thinking at the beginning of 2012.
Would you not like to meet Mayo or Galway in an All Ireland final ?

If Tyrone are really serious about being considered a contender again they should be winning this game by 4+ points. No ifs, buts or maybes. Donegal aren't the team they were and Tyrone are a young, upcoming side. They could be forgiven for losing to a Kerry team they should have beaten last year but not this time. If they lose to an ageing, weary Donegal they should fold up the tent.
