Ned_Stormcrow a lot of your posts are childish and what the other posters are saying is right. Wind your neck in and stop getting over excited.

And it wasn't a full strenght Cavan team either so what is your point?

I was replying to the Cavan supporter above who said "oh Cavan have also beat Mayo U21 this year in Mayo" i thought he'd like to know what they bet. TBH that type of comment is like me talking about our challenge wins this year against Tyrone,Donegal and Armagh.

I expect Cavan and Roscommon to give a good account of themselves in the semi finals however one would have to fancy a Dublin v Cork AI final now.

I expect Dublin's attacking power to be to much for an overly defensive Cavan side, Fair play to Cavan winning 4 Ulsters in a row but there negitive tactics that work against other northern teams i am afraid might fall short against the better free scoring teams that have come through the other provinces. Cavan have great defense but i dont think there team have the attacking power the other 3 teams left have, I hope i am wrong tho and wish them the best of luck.
The other semi could be alot closer the very good teams that have put up high scores in there games so far,Two very attacking teams it could come down too the midfield battle and who defense comes out on top.I worry for Roscommon as they havnt been tested in Connacht this year whereas Cork had two decent opponents in Munster.
Cork and Dublin Final for me but would love to be wrong.

I think that the ultra defensive tactics that we saw in Armagh on Wed night will be exposed against either Dublin or Cork.. Cork scored 2 16 in their last game. I think that if a team tries to run the ball into the full forwards, they will get lost in the blanket defense, but if they can score from between the 45 and 30 metre lines, then the game could be over after 10 minutes.

Can I just clarify what I was trying to say as you seem to think that I was implying that just because Ulster is the hardest province to win that I automatically assume that Cavan are the best team in Ireland, and that I should somehow show more humility to other provinces as this will help Cavan's chances of winning the title. Well I can tell you it won't, 2 more scoring forwards might help Cavan win the All Ireland but me changing my mind about the Connacht championship won't help.

If a team is good enough they will still win the title regardless of how much/little opposition they are given provincially and that has been Cavan's problem over the past 3 seasons, there is always a better team then them outside of Ulster whether that's been Roscommon, Galway or Cork. Look at Dublin they have walked out of Leinster at senior level for 8 out of the last 9 seasons and still won two All Ireland titles. Lack of opposition isn't hurting them but the Leinster Championship itself has become a worthless procession of big wins for them.

I'd love to see Cavan win the U21 All Ireland, but I think Dublin will beat us. Does this lessen the argument that Ulster is the hardest province to win, no of course it doesn't, I'd swap provinces with Roscommon in a heartbeat if it meant (a) less matches to win a provinical title and (b) less matches to winning the All Ireland, less matches = less injuries, less suspensions, less burnout, less fixture clashes with the senior team etc etc

Sure didnt Cork Dublin and Roscommon all have to win three games to get out of there provinces so why would you just switch places with roscommon seems you have an agenda against connacht football, Cavan may have played 4 games to win there but the extra game will be of no benifit to them as there the weakest team left and thus show standard in ulster is weaker than other 3 provinces and im making that statement b4 the semis even take place im that confident than cavan havnt hope in hell against dub

I find it unusual that the Dublin posters haven't been posting on this thread bigging up their team, they are usually fairly confident.

There = in or at that place
Their = a form of the possessive case of they

Whatever about the Connacht championship and I mentioned Munster and Leinster in my post, I'll definitly have an agenda against the Longford schools system if you keep that sort of garbage up.

By the way I already said that I thought Dublin will beat Cavan so what's your point?

cavandub you may wish that your county was based in Connacht but I would say if you want to stay celebrating U-21 provincial success then Ulster is the best place for you at the moment. If you were based in Connacht then I am very confident that you would not have won each of the last 4 provincial titles, what with Galway and Roscommon both beating you in this time, so how you can claim it is easier to come out of these provinces baffles me. There are less games, but I would rather take my chances in a competition against 8 other average sides than 3 or 4 excellent ones. Roscommon played 3 games to win Connacht this year - against Mayo, Sligo (whe gave them their toughest day out) and Leitrim, who had just dethroned the All-Ireland champions. It is just peculiar to me that as a man from what many would consider one of the weaker counties, you would be so dismissive of other lesser counties. Enjoy the Ulster win and good luck in the semis, I have a feeling ye will need it.

I hope you are right. I know we are not favorites but would it be such a shock if we won?

All Ireland U21 Football Championship Outrights odds

Dublin U21 (11/8), Cork U21 (5/2), Roscommon U21 (11/4), Cavan U21 (7)

Plenty of cash placed on Cork the last week by the looks of it. A Cork v Dublin final going by those odds.

Yes almost but with Fintan Kelly ruled out through injury and another two out plus Conor Daly doubtful we could only have have five of that side remaining David Murray,John McManus,Tom Corcoran,Enda Smith,Donal Smith.

Cork now favourites which shows the challenges that awaits us however we have the talent to reach the final hopefully we can perform on the day.

Really hard to say how the semi finals will pan out as I havnt seen any of the 4 teams in action.Dubs have a nice sprinkling of seniors but respect must go to Cavan in winning Ulster for the 4th year in succession.Looking forward to 2 good games.Would be nice to see Roscommon win their semi final.Heres hoping for a Dublin v Roscommon final.

I firmly believe in this Roscommon team and I wont sit on the fence with a Prediction, I believe we will beat a very fine Cork side
as I think we will improve on previous games. Its now or never for Ros to win an All Ireland U21 and I think they have the minerals do do so.

Regards Cavan and Dublin I think it Will go to the wire with a point or two either way.
