Colm O'Rourke scored a headed goal against Dublin in the GOAL challenge game in 1995. I think it put the Rest of Ireland team 8-08 to 4-10 up. Devastated that it was allowed to stand. I was confident of a Dublin comeback but then a pitch invasion put paid to that.

Say a defender, under pressure from an opponent, tries to hand-pass back to his advancing goalkeeper. The ball eludes the keeper and goes directly into his own not. Would the goal stand? CornAghais91 (Dublin) - Posts: 126 - 01/07/2019 19:55:19 2203885 Link 0 |
You're still allowed palm the ball first time into the net in hurling, same as football, but it's hardly ever done, if ever. The handpassed goals were abolished alright, they were ridiculous.

Armagh's goal looked like a square ball, he had a foot in the square before the ball entered the square

I thought it was a square ball too. Still have to see it back. As long he was outside when the ball was played, he can be in there before the ball. m_the_d (None) - Posts: 1099 - 01/07/2019 20:35:11 2203927 Link 0 |
