Here's hoping this is the case!"
Ridiculous.
Didn't see the Div 3 clubs 'opting out' of the league this time 2 years ago when the awful decision was made to allow 2nd teams enter the league. Played for the year and raised it at convention the following year, as per the rulebook.

And before you say it, yes the rule allowing 2nd teams enter the division 3 league had the potential to close the gates of small rural clubs, which is a far greater issue than any of the negatives noted about the new all county championship.

New County championship has the same potential.
Its going to be boycotted wooden simple as its too destructive to the year.

Also I imagine junior clubs will boycott also.

Can't missed the transfer window with all their dickin about. Maybe that's what clubs wanted no change but buck the boys out of putting in the transfer app in!

What's happening here? If clubs are serious of boycotting this. Isn't it a waste of time for our fixture planners to be working on a calender which is going to fail? Like whats the point in us playing a calender that packs everything in before July just to make room for a competition that by all acounts around the bar stools of the county, majority have no intention of competing in? If the clubs feel so strongly against this is there not the option to revote on the motion in the February County board meeting or can these type of things only be dealt with following convention? Can a club or clubs request a new vote?

Also, If the fixture planners are being met with a situation to actually create a fixture calender for this idea they are having to increase the amount of rounds where clubs are having to compete without county players, multiple first team games a week and expanding our season further into the year. Which I think has to be what's coming our way to realistically allow for this motion to work. Clubs will not go for this. Like can the county board not point out sooner rather than later this is essentially impossible as it was put forward.

I appreciate it was passed but surely if a motion was passed for a round of the championship to be played on the moon that dosnt mean it can happen.

The onus has to be on the clubs. I think putting in such a loose idea and saying county board to make it happen is reckless and results in the situation we have now where a motion gets passed where people clearly didn't understand the actual result.

Special County Board meeting next week to try and rescind the motion. Two thirds majority required..
51 voted on original motion. If same number vote next day 34 votes needed to reverse decision. 14 junior clubs and 4 intermediate could therefore vote to keep the all county championship. Work to be done

Jaysus 2/3 to overturn! Tough task. Surely no one will abstain on this vote. How many votes in the county 58?

Apparently a motion being tabled that if teams opt out of the New Championship format it may disqualify them from playing in their own respective championships.

Don't think any of senior clubs be shaking in their boots at the prospects of meeting our County midfielders on last sun display in any so called nonsense new champo.
Put this nonsense to bed once an for all

Totally untrue, no such motion has been circulated to the clubs in line with notice rules so it can't be on the agenda.

Apparently and this is only hearsay its an emergency motion, will be proposed, seconded and supported strongly by mid-louth clubs on the night of meeting by show of hands. Required to stop senior clubs bringing the game and democratic decisions of countyboard into disrepute.

You can't debate a motion that hasn't been circulated with the required notice, stop scaremongering.

maybe there is merit in this proposal---give our two midfielders a lesson on how to tackle---
Absolutely abysmal last Sunday---we should not be blooding players--that's for u17s and 20s
very poor display by players and management and can only see one outcome at the end of the competition.
No one in charge on the field and noone in charge on the line---permeates down from the CB
imo they let the county and its supporters down last sunday

The Tommy Cup has been scraped to a vote of 40-7. The status quo stays the same with the clubs views and opinions been sought by the time the convention comes round next year.

Great to c so many teams delighted with this vote, from the 16 clubs that play at a senior level in the county either in league or championship, how many will actually win the league or championship in the next 10 years my guess is 2 maybe 3 max , we can look forward to Louth seniors hopefully being able to stil compete and constantly play challenges with Wicklow,Waterford , Antrim and Leitrim as this is the standard wee are at , slag our midfielders and management all u want , where's all these unreal senior players to take there places and how can these lads develope as players it they aren't playing senior championship??? wait I know Durnin join the Marys and Earley join the blues problem sorted Louth for Sam 2020 , but the martins won't b happy with those transfers so the 2 Duffy's from the feckins should join the martins and there u have it lads , there is the only 3 clubs that will win anything in the senior grade in the next 10 years maybe 15 , but at least we have 16 senior clubs who think they have a chance !!! Dreamers !!!!! I'd ask anyone to name me 8 competitive senior clubs in this county at the minute,
