Good team considering 4 / 5 good players to return from injuries and collage duties.. Best of luck.. Also pity Rian Branagan and D Hughes not involved this year

In my opinion most of them lads are the best in the county, not many lads I'd start before them, maybe a certain Hughes in corner back over young mallon but other than that, that's a strong county panel and all we can do is get behind the lads and support them

Reddog to much pressure training since November, training in Belfast. That team no better than a junior team the management r only involved in junior team's in the past couple of year's and picking players at that level because they see them week in week out.
The county board need to get Simon Wilson involved asap before it's too late.

Bit harsh crannumber2 Paudie can only do so much and did well to get to CR final but agree on one point - Size - Plenty of decent hurlers but they need a few bigger men to compete - Great team of 90s had good mix of brawn and brain!

Derry starting to put out some of their best young players. Was a close game with Derry the more physical team, probably should have won by couple more

Boys looking at the Derry team tell me if I am wrong is it full strength ? If not we r in bigger trouble than I thought,if we e going to give boys a chance why not give the young hurlers from Ards a chance and stop wasting time from boys across the pond no disrespect ment they r not up to it.

So if training was in the ards they would be better is that what your trying to say? No club has the facilities for winter training

Few months off cant be easily leading this county, especially when so many want to see him fail, goes to show what people really think about hurling in down. Proves a lot of outsiders right

Too many hurler's on the ditch on the other side of the pond............. The majority of the county are behind the current set up except for a few bitter ones on here........

Most with a titter of wit are anyway.

We just don't have the hurlers at present and TBH we're light years behind Derry, let alone Antrim who are getting it together in a serious way.

Good to see the game in McKenna this Sunday. Hopefully give the lads a proper home advantage.

If you take the size of the forward line we have atm a bigger ground would probably suit better not sure Mckenna be best choice

I think we're one of the few pitches open at the minute.

The joys of natural drainage.

I personally think McKenna is now too small for modern intercounty hurling but Jim has it in good nick as always.

I think we seen the impact a bigger pitch can have last year when we played Derry in Portaferry. Derry's forwards had a bit of a field day, our forwards did nothing. At least McKenna can make visiting teams feel a bit uncomfortable with a tight space to play in.
