A Rested Con.

KIng Con. That's te text my son sent me at the end of the game. It says it all I suppose. For someone who was in my teenage years when Hefffo's Heroes hit the scene back in the 1970s, I have no doubt in saying that this is the greatest Gaeiic football team ever t play for Dublin. Unlike all previous Dublin sides they never never panic....nothing seems to faze them. They just do the job. Thank all the Gods I have lived to see a team such as this. Stephen Cluxton, Jack McCaffrey, James McCarthy, Brian Fenton …..you are immense. But....Niall Scully, Brian Howard, Paul Mannion, Ciarán Kilkenny, Con O'Callaghan and Dean Rock......You bestrode the field like ancient warriors that the sages of Greece and Rome would be proud of!!!! IMMENSE.

A master class yesterday by the best inside forward in the game bar none. Absolutely took Keegan to the cleaners.

Its just amazing, im thinking of all the Keegan getting better of Dermo and Kilkenny debates over the years.

Con just obliterated him and Keegan is the best man marker in the country.

Doesn't matter who it is

Good ball into Con and a 1 v 1 situation opens up that kid is going to turn you inside out

Look at the way he hops the ball before the 2nd goal...

It'll be a major weapon v Kerry

He's the best half back man marker , but he got an awful time by Quinlivan (Tipp) in the semi final a few years ago when he was in the full back line he consistently fouled Quinlivan and should of been sent off for persistent fouling, and again last week Murphy was destroying him in the full back line , he's better in the half back line when he can attack all game and put the forward on the back foot. Keegan is a class player but there's not a defender in the history of the game that can hold Con one on one not a hope.

In fairness to Keegan he's a tracker not an inside back.

No doubt about it

There was a bang of Paul Curran 1994 about it..

As you know very well Mr Curran was a Rolls Royce defending on the front foot.

Absolutely, losing Heery for '94 cost us big, hence the wrong tactics regarding Curran.

Congrats to Con on his player of the month award

IF Dublin win he may only be one more good performance away from POTY?

Definitely. I reckon that point he got against Roscommon was one the greatest of all time. How did his knee survive????

Sacrificing Curraner to man mark Linden was madness
It's not like we had no corner back options either
We totally took the buzz out of the half back line. Keith Barr changed his game to stay back and mind the gaff
Deegan should have the man to mark Linden

Don't be surprised if we don't see too much of Mannion or O Sullivan early year pitches this time in the year leg wrecking , that said nobody know that better than JG. Back to Con I'm looking forward to seeing him at full throttle it could very well be his year"
Couldn't have posted the goddamn lotto numbers while I was at it

Still wake up screaming from that match, Charlie to tap in rebound if penalty and Johnny Barr lumps into it. Dublin had enough chances to win 2 AIs in second half, never been more despondent. Won in 95 didn't play half as good.
