Replying To jd6220:  "Appeal what?"
He's being smart, after what happened last year. Fingers crossed still as we're not done, but we have managed full championships in hurling and football so far, without any appeals.
That'd be an achievement in itself.

you really need to elaborate on your statement or are you just trolling. Latter probably true.
Score after 13/14 mins of the second half was 0-8 to 0-5 in favour of headford. there was a total of 37 mins(well justified with the amount of times the headford lads were "injured") played in the second half so in the final 23/34 mins spiddal outscored headford 1-5 to 0-1. so please enlighten us on how you think headford threw it away??

They didn't see it out because they weren't good enough to see it out and they were outplayed at the most crucial stage. They were comprehensively outscored at the business end of the game when the pressure was on.
Try giving a bit of credit to An Spidéal who went and took the game.

Ya they went and took the game no doubt.shrewd observation!hard to believe a team can qualify for a county after only scoring once from play in the semi.

Incredible isn't it. A team getting fouled regularly scores their frees which help them win a match. Never seen before.

hard to believe that Headford gave away so many frees in scoring positions. If they didn't foul so much, Spiddal might have gotten a few more from play. Who knows!

They werent really scoring positions until the ref moved nearly every one of them closer to the goal.

Now you're just simply making things up. You'll get over the result eventually I hope.

Just stating a fact.if you were actually at the game you couldnt deny the amount of times frees were moved in to directly in front of the goal?

i like facts. How many were moved closer to the goal? You must know as you are stating facts. And no, I wasn't at the game, that is why I'm asking you.

It will be some achievement by MB if they get promoted straight away after being relegated. They are nowhere near the same team An Spideal beat in the 1st round. Can see MB winning by 4/5, Frank Doherty has done outstanding work, especially after it was his Kilconly team that got them relegated.

You're right, he did move it forward multiple times but who's to blame there, the ref or the defenders for constantly yapping? It was clear that he wasn't going to take any backchat. Bear in mind that Spiddal missed their first two frees from max 21m and 30m out, it was incredibly stupid to give their freetakers the chance to settle with tap over frees.

Headford were unlucky that Cunningham was out and they picked up a few other injuries during the game, probably would have had enough it not for that, but I'd be looking at my own defence before moaning about the ref.

It'd be a greater achievement if An Spidéal went up. MB have a panel who were very competitive in senior for many years as well as a few lads who've played intercounty senior and are still in their mid-twenties.
An Spidéal have a very small panel and a young team, most of whom are playing intermediate hurling on the weekends in between the football, including this weekend coming.
MB were much shorter odds to go up at the start of the year.

Id be blaming the defence and ref in equal measure.they gave him the chance to move the ball in but there were times he had no right to bring it in.one such time was after a manus breathnach free.according to a ref i was talking to the reason it was brought in isnt actually in the gaa rule book.thats the kind of thing Headford had to deal with.
Hopefully both teams will get a fair neutral ref for the final and give them both a chance to win the final on their own merits.

This is Spiddals year. Breathnaigh to spend a few years in Intermediate. Spiddal knocking on door now for a few years. Panel is plenty big. Good strong young players in their peak. Arguably Breathnaigh best player Denvir Late thirties. Fintan still recovering. A good few more in mid to late thirties. If Spiddal cant beat the Breathnaigh now they will never beat them. Just talking down their chances. They destroyed MB in Group Stage. Bookies will have Spiddal odds on to win. Defeat for Spiddal would be a tragedy for them. Breathnaigh need a few years in Intermediate to blood in new players. We will have to listen to plenty of slagging from Spiddal lads for a few months, but personally will be happy to see them progressing. MB will go up again in two or three years I think.
