Any reliable word on Callanan and Bubbles? Will they be back at all this year?
The placing of Forde at 14 looks ominous for me that we may not see Callanan this year.

Does anyone know why Noel McGrath isn't on the panel today, is he injured? I didn't hear anything about him recently

Apparently N McGrath is injured. I'm hearing bad news that S Callinans injury is very serious and he may not be back. Bubbles was poor today. Only J Forde and J McGrath were any good. Rest of forwards very poor.

I heard today he may never hurl again! Bubbles poor today. Doesn't look fit.

Well Folks.

What the verdict for Sunday? I am not feeling confident. I think Limerick will beat us. We seem to have regressed since 2016.

Shocking performance
Tipperary 2-14 Limerick 1-23 at full time is bad enough but only 5 points from play is horrific

'The Land of my Fathers'! I am the son of two Tipperary parents and Grandson to four Tipp Grandparents! I have never lived in Tipperary (other than for summer months when a school child!) but I have always been a keen Tipp hurling fan! Mam and Dad remain ardent Tipp supporters and so when Championship comes around every year we look forward to supporting Tipp and to a really good run in the championship. I listened to Nicky English on Friday last and he said that he thought Limerick would be dark horses this year and that he felt they could surprise some of the leading counties.

I doubt he thought they would win as comprehensively as they did yesterday! What was most disappointing to me was that Limerick seemed to be physically more engaged all over the pitch! Tipp looked like they were going through the motions and I think Limerick realising that really pushed on! When you think of all teh chances they (limerick) missed - especially in the first half - the gap could have been huge! Yesterdays performance was one of teh worst I have ever seen from a Tipp team and if tehy play like that again they won't beat Cork and probably won't beat Clare or Waterford.

After teh 2016 All Ireland, I thought Tipp would go on to dominate for a few years - the team was so good and so physically imposing - it seems incredible that they could fall so far!

Maybe this result will act as a spur and we will see a much different performance next day out! Hopefully anyway!!

Thoughts on Tipps season so far?

Season has been defined by the number of players with very little game time during the league and then asked to play 4 huge games in a row. I feel if we can somehow sneak out of Munster (I dont think we will tho) that we may still be all Ireland contenders.
This would be my team if all were fit and well.
Mooney
Barrett
Kennedy (or a fit Barry)
Joe O'Dwyer
B Maher
R Maher
P Maher
Breen
McCormack
Bubbles
Noel
Bonner
Forde
Callinan
J McGrath

O'Meara has also been a loss.

That team fully fit would take beating. I'd particularly like to see them two at corner backs. 1 & 3 still being the suspect positions but they'd have loads of cover with them lads around them. I'd a;lso love to see Noel left at 11 where I think he plays his best hurling

He was my man of the match against Cork. Ryan did way too much chopping and changing of the team.

Ya there has been huge chopping and changing this year since the first match of the league. Seamus Kennedy done most of his league hurlng at midfield. You also had two debutants midfield for the limerick game, whom neither played there in the league. Hard to figure out the logic but what's done is done.
Hopefully a decision is made early on what the future holds. I'd be normally against the idea but I think the players probably need to have a say too. This is the most experienced hurling team around at the minute. There's a core of them nearing the end of their careers too

I'm taking some encouragement from the fact that Ryan came out and held his hands up and admitted he got preparations from championship wrong.

That's a good starting point to try to turn this around next year. Give them one more year and see if they can learn from there mistakes.

I dont think this team has one more year to play around with though. Its now or never for some of the older lads. Ok, they arent as old as Loughnane says but the main men on that team are around since 08/09. Not many hurlers these days last past 30 at this level.
