Dublin football captain James McCarthy and his wife Clodagh have welcomed their first child.

Ballymun Kickhams GAA club has congratulated the couple on the safe arrival of baby Conall. "We would like to extend our congratulations to James McCarthy and his wife Clodagh on the arrival of baby Conall Michael McCarthy," the Dublin great’s club said.

The news comes after James and Clodagh were married at Luttrellstown Castle Resort in December 2022, and after James and his Dublin team-mates Stephen Cluxton and Mick Fitzsimons became the first players in the history of the GAA to win nine All-Ireland SFC medals.
