Anybody know if the draw for the Champ was made last week and if so what the draw is ?
Reckon it will be competitive this year.

No draw made yet. I think they are waiting on a couple of clubs to declare what they are doing and to pay their money.

The draw did not happen. They are waiting for a couple of clubs to get their houses in order before they can make the draw.

Surely clubs know what they are doing at this stage, given we are nearly 2 months into the season ???

Tir Conaill to go all the way this year, Anthony's the only team that will rival them.. poor performances from Moindearg & T Macs so far..

Tommy Macs beat Harlesden in the league last weekend! Them and the Anthonys will benefit alot from playing Division 2 league!

Eire Og beat Moindearg, will Eire Og be in the running?

coming on great guns Eire Og but I don't think they are ready for a championship win yet. Anthonys and TCG at the moment the favourites.

Clubs should have their house in order by now in terms of paying up money etc but I think the delay of the draw is not the end of the world. Provided teams have the dates for the championship then I don't see a big issue. The majority of the teams will all know each other very well anyway so the likelihood of any disadvantage is minimalised.

In terms of picking a winner, the favourites must be St. Anthony's & TCG. All the others are fighting it out amongst themselves and jostling. Dulwich appear to be next in the line I would guess with T.Macs, Pearses, Eire Og following in behind and by time the Champs rolls around Moindearg will probably be operating at this level too.

I don't know much about C&B Gaels to be honest. They lost heavily to Anthony's and lost by 7 or so to TCG at the weekend yet beat McCurtains! Hopefully they'll be fully competitive throughout the year!

I'm afraid the same will not be said for Emmetts. I'm afraid at this stage it looks like the end of the road. No money paid up and struggling for the last few years for players. Even if they manage to get their money together I think they'll be the team everyone looks for in the Championship draw. Perhaps it would be in their interest to not enter this year and re-group for next? - Or perhaps amalgamate with another club (although I wouldn't like to see another club go!).

The seeds for the year are:

1st Seeds; TCG & Moindearg
2nd Seeds; Dulwich & Anthony's
3rd Seeds; Pearses & Eire Og
4th Seeds; Emmetts & McCurtains
5th Seeds; C&B Gaels

Although, C&B will become 4th seeds if Emmetts fold. If TCG and Anthony's are drawn together all the teams below will be looking to avoid that group!

TCG, Anthonys, Pearses and Tommy Macs would be an interesting group!

Although T'macs have been poor this year, I would imagine quite a few teams would like to avoid them as bottom seeds! I would have them above emmets, pearses and Dulwich. Should be an interesting year!

Is there a County Board Meeting tonight? - If so, then I assume the draw will be done then?

Seems Robert Emmetts have folded. Where are their players going? - Obviously they have been struggling with numbers but I assume they will have a few lads still interested in playing.

Junior Teams in League Action

Div 2 Results for the weekend:

St Brendans 5-9 vs 1-12 Thomas McCurtains
St Anthonys 1-6 vs 3-14 North London Shamrocks

Div 3 Results for the weekend:

Shalloe Pearse 1-9 vs 1-5 Moindearg
Crawley & Brighton Gaels 0-7 vs 1-16 Dulwich Harps
Eire Og 1-6 vs 0-13 Garryowen

Despite losses for both teams you'd have to be looking at T.Macs and St. Anthony's favourably in the Junior champs with them having several Div 2 games under their belt before Round 1 of the Champs although Dulwich seem to be going along very nicely....perhaps a big challenge from them this year!

Good win for the Pearses although against a Moindearg team still trying to find their feet this year. No surprises in the other games but I'd say Eire Og didn't go too badly with a 4 point defeat against an Intermediate side. Obviously, I didn't see the games so it's hard to say if the score truly reflects the way the game went (eg. a last minute goal or whatever).

CBG (can we start using that abbreviation yet? haha) seem to be a steady side even in their early days!
