So a defeat yesterday for Warwickshire, didnt make the game myself but any thoughts on it for those that went?
Another dissapointing year for the County team i have to say, fair play to those lads who played but seems too many missing from certain clubs cost them. Who was the team in the end?

Seems the County Board thinks as much of the county team as some of the Clubs..... The "Wearwickshire" team lost to Lancashire it would appear.

No hurling games went ahead, Casements v Mitchells was either because Casements couldn't field or Mitchells hurlers had a dinner dance the night before, and Barnabas v EGB didn't go ahead because EGB couldn't field. The game was for 6pm on a Sunday in Nottingham so no real surprise there though, its a lot to ask of any team.

Casements played Mitchells before the county game at the Pairc. Think mitchelss won.

My mistake then, I was told earlier in the week it had been cancelled.

May well be moving to the Midlands later this year and wondering who would be a good club to join. Ideally would like a club that gives English born players a fair crack. Would probably be based in Tamworth.

I'm the manager of Erin Go Bragh and I live in Sutton Coldfield, just around the corner from Tamworth. I've just checked on google maps and the rough distances from Tamworth to those clubs mentioned are:

Roger Casements (Coventry) - 38 minutes
St Barnabus (Nottingham) - 50 minutes
Erin Go Bragh (Erdington, Birmingham) - 25 minutes
St Chads (Erdington, Birmingham) - 25 minutes
James Conollys (Aston, Birmingham) - 27 minutes

All well run clubs that you would find a good home but EGB, St Chads or James Connollys would be the nearest to you. It the depends on what standard of football suits you best. St Chads and Connollys play at Intermediate level and EBG play at Senior.

We'd certainly be happy to have you down to meet the lads. We have a majority of English born players with the addition of a number of Irish born lads plus 1 French player!

I hear Macs are finding it hard to get lads out to training these days. Interesting to see them come Championship!

Sidelineman,

I wouldn't be worrying yourself about how macs are training. They will be there or there abouts come crunch time as always.

Nice to see a few more clubs representing the County at the weekend, although judging by the result maybe we should of just left it as the macs team.

Regards,

Winker ;-)

Sidelineman, remind me again of the total combined Championship medals of Mitchells Gaelic team?? In case you weren't aware, the Warwickshire County board don't give out Championship medals in June. Nothing as hard as a keyboard warrior!!!

Good luck to the Warwickshire U16s and U18s today in their All-Britain Semi-Final up in Lancashire!! Maybe some of the seniors could learn from the pride these young lads take in wearing their county's shirt!

Congratulations to the county under 16s winning 3-11 to 1-6 and the under 18s winning 4-12 to 1-7 yesterday against Lancashire. Under 16s in semi final next Saturday while under 18s in final in two weeks against London. Well done to the under 14s who played this weekend over in Ireland, unlucky not to win more games but displayed great pride and battle and most of whom will be able to play next year.

That's decent of you to take the time to post the info MLambe - I'll definitely be in touch if my move goes ahead. You don't come across too many French GAA men, maybe Thierry Henry's hand pass has inspired a whole generation!

how do people see this weekends championship matches going. Aside from the Mitchells v Macs game the rest will more than likley be rather one sided. EGB, Barnabas and Casements will all have facile victories you would think
