Super performance ..huge effort put in by one and all. Hate to bring it up but derry defo got handy frees from ref while leitrim should have got many more frees. Rosie linesman too made some iffy decisions and didnt see what went on in front of himself a few times to the anger of many leitrim supporters. The huge effort naturally had a few guys labouring with 15 minutes to go and a few subs introduced much earlier wud have helped and not neccesarily the subs that were brought in eventually. Damien moran ray mulvey and keith keegan might have worked earlier. Goalie a problem and needs work . 1-3 in 1st half came directly from our kick out. No plunkett orourke mcweeney p.dolan today so its all positive going into next week and some things to work on ..happy days

Brilliant performance and certainly didn't think I'd be leaving the ground disappointed we only got a draw. Felt we should have pushed on when we were ahead as we had them on the rack but tended to try to play around with the ball a bit too much at that stage. Getting quick ball in was working very well. Agree on previous post about the keeper. Should also have caught the ball for their second goal also but did make a good save in the first half (at least I think it was him and not the defender).

Anyway I think realistically everyone had us down for 0 points from the first 2 games so that's a big boost already. Considering we were without Mark Plunkett and Ryan O'Rourke who I would say are our 2 best players it was an amazing result. Bring on Cork.

Good result although 2 points would have been a huge boost. Cork at home will be tough but home advantage and confidence should help.
Be great to see Plunkett o Rourke and Mulvey back soon as they have experience nd quality, we are light enough at the minute on the bench so can't afford many injuries. Inside forward line seemed to work well we just need to keep fast quality ball going in. We need to stop teams walking through us too and scoring goals take them down concede the free, all the big teams do it, it's cynical but that's what it takes, anyway will come with experience we hope. Up Leitrim

Played very well yesterday evening should have won it we conceded two poor goals at stages when we were in control of the game. Wouldn't be too hard on McKiernan the swirling wind made it a nightmare for a keeper under a high ball thought he done well overall. Our defence overall was very solid with Conor Reynolds and Paddy Maguire outstanding. Just not cute enough to close the game out would have been delighted with a point before the game however I feel now that was definitely a point dropped however if there was another minute in that game we would have lost which would have been a disaster. No disrespect to the subs introduced all talented young footballers but we were lacking in experience and power on the bench last night when we needed it hopefully Mark Plunkett and Ryan will be back for Cork game . All in all a decent start to the league

Now there is a performance every Leitrim supporter can be proud to be associated with. Congrats to the players and the management.

Missing arguably our two best players in Mark Plunkett and Ryan O'Rourke alongside Ray Mulvey and Pearce Dolan missing out through injury. Which makes it an even better result!
More players who would have been getting game time if they were healthy were also missing from the bench, which left us with little options.

5 U20s on the bench!

We kicked 1:14 away from home against a very defensive team and to be fair we were playing quiet defensively. Our scoring rates from the past 3 years is impressive.

I have been saying for the last two years that for the first time in a long time following Leitrim football we have no problem getting scores.

Keith Beirne, Shane Quinn, Darragh Rooney, Paddy Maguire, Shane Moran and Fergal McTague were all outstanding.

It's a game if we had those missing players on the field we probably would have closed out with a little bit more experience and know-how but an unbelievable learning for the boys who were playing.

Few issues still persist - Our kick-out execution and strategy needs a lot of work - Pearce Dolan and Plunkett's ability to high field should give us more options when they return but it was putting us under considerable pressure at times. It is an issue Terry hasn't been able to amend since he came in - might be no harm to get an extra help on it off someone outside the camp at this stage.

Great to be going into the Cork game with some confidence. Going to be a seriously tough challenge (that Cork Forward line is a scary prospect) so hopefully, we haven't picked up any more knocks because our squad is so thin we can't afford them.

Will be some buzz and competition for places over the next few weeks!

Great result for Leitrim, hope they don't rue dropping the point at the end of the league as the win was very much on the cards.

I would honestly love to know what game you were watching Darragh Rooney was not outstanding very average and is looking slow Dean McGovern was outstanding his work rate was phenomenal the tracking back he done stopped us from conceding a lot

Hopefully they'll make it as difficult as possible for Cork, we shouldn't be afraid of them, Offaly went toe to toe with them and Offaly are a team we are surely targeting for two points. Scoring difference could be huge at the end of the league.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. We are still favourites to get relegated. Great to get the draw but this is only a stepping stone to a massive few games in the next couple weeks. We need to get at least another 4 points.

There is no danger of Leitrim getting ahead of itself.

Yes we are still favourites for relegation. However it is in the control of ourselves rather than what pundit's say will happen.

Leitrim Supporters are always behind the team once they put in good performances. However it is important for the management and players to have ambition and then back up that ambition with top drawer preparation.

I suggest we are making progress and would ask our supporters to come out in big numbers for the upcoming games and get behind the players.

A couple of years ago we started div4 with ZERO points from 2 games and joked we needed a div5. It's hard not to get carried away when you come to work and people are noticing our Derry result with respect following on from last year. Terry and his team must be some operators. They are getting it out of the players and they have belief. 1.14 and hitting Derry on the counter attack with speed. It's great been a Leitrim supporter at this time of year again! Great to be playing some big name teams considering how close Cork came to Kerry in the Munster final last year.
Thank God Terry let the lads go on that stag. They paid it back in full with their performance. That's perfect man management and the lads' sanity remains intact for the next couple of months. Hopefully Shannonside and ocean fm have the tent fixed.

Good luck to Leitrim and Terry Hyland on the weekend. You have a real genuine football man at the helm.
When is the last time ye played Cork in league or championship? Its a very tough start to Div. 3 but 2 more wins and you might be safe enough

Good display in Carrick on Shannon today against a way superior team in Cork. Leitrim will go to Pearse Park in Longford quietly confident. Highland has earmarked this game as one they want to win.

Leitrim were competitive today and matched cork physically which was a positive. Rooney had a goal chance early on and playing against the wind would have been a huge score. McKiernan made some mighty saves to keep us in it. I suppose in the finish up the score line was fair enough. Huge game next weekend especially with Longford drawing with Louth today. We have a point more than I thought we would have at this stage of the league.

Thought it was a very decent performance today against a the Divisions top promotion contenders. Shane Quinn had a super game as did Paddy Maguire and many others but our fielding at midfield especially in the first half was questionable as it was against Derry last week. Physically and fitness wise I see a big improvement on last year and am very confident for the games ahead. 3 massive saves today that wouldn't be out of place in any stadium.

Good experience for Leitrim, playing one of the top teams, albeit one who has fallen a bit in recent times and matching them for large parts of the game
